QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse is a 14 day diet system that is “designed to totally transform your body” (website). This QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse review will sift through the dozens of ingredients and help you see QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse for what it really is.

QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse Ingredients

QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse is a 3 part system. The following are the ingredients contained in QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse.

-Iso-Burn AM Ingredients

Niacin 20 mg
Chromium 200 mcg

QT Capsimax Thermogenic Complex 244 mg
Caffeine Anhydrous is a good diet pill ingredient, but QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse does not reveal how much caffeine anhydrous it contains.
Capsimax Capsicum Fruit Extract
Metabromine Cocoa Extract is an appetite suppressant. It needs more clinical backing.
Bioperine helps the body to absorb nutrients. There is no evidence to suggest it causes weight loss.

Super Antioxidant Thermo Catalyst Complex 233 mg
Blueberry, Blackberry, Transresveratrol, White Willow Bark, Acai
These ingredients do not cause weight loss.

Iso-Burn Fatloss Activator 415 mg
Green Tea Leaf Extract does contribute to weight loss. However, in order for green tea to be effective it has to be taken in doses of 300 mg or more per day. QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse fails to list how much green tea it contains, so there is no way of knowing if it will be effective.
Raspberry Ketones has been shown to cause weight loss in mice, but more human testing is needed.
Mucuna Pruriens
Banaba Leaf lowers blood sugar levels, leading to weight loss. However, once again, QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse does not say how much Banaba Leaf it contains.
Sclareolide
Acetyl-l-carnitine
QT Detox Cleansing Complex 100 mg
Black Walnut Hull, Grapefruit Seed, Pau D’arco Bark, Pumpkin Seed, Myrrh Gum Powder, Hyssop, Gentian Root, Elecampane Root, Prickly Ash Bark, Yellow Dock Root, False Unicorn Root

None of these ingredients contributes to weight loss.

Iso-Cleanse PM Ingredients

Dietary Fiber 2 g

Iso-Cleanse Herbal Complex 2200 mg
Oat Fiber, Cellulose, Senna Leaf, Cascara Sagrada, Aloe Ferrox, Rhubarb, Prune Powder, Carob, Apple Fruit, Tamarind Extract, Date Fruit, Fig Fruit

NONE of the ingredients in Iso-Cleanse PM have been proven to contribute to weight loss.

Iso-Flush Ingredients

Vitamin B6 50 mg
Magnesium 100 mg
Potassium 100 mg
Herbal Blend 1000 mg
Buchu Leaf
Cornsilk Stylus
Couchgrass Rhisome
Hydrangea Root
Juniper Berry
Uva Ursi has been shown to cause drug interactions when combined with diuretics like Buchu Leaf.
Horsetail Extract

None of these ingredients has been shown to cause weight loss.

Proprietary Blend 156 mg
Dandelion Root
Green Tea is a very effective diet pill ingredient, but only when used in doses of 300 mg or more per day. Since QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse fails to list how much green tea it contains, there is no way of knowing if there is enough green tea to cause weight loss.
Guarana has been proven to contribute to weight loss, but only when combined with Damiana and Yerba Mate. Because QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse does not contain either Damiana or Yerba Mate, this QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse finds the Guarana in QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse will not cause weight loss.

So, overall, QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse does contain a few clinically proven ingredients, but it fails to list how much of each ingredient is included.

QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse Cost

QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse costs $59.99 for a 14 day supply. This is very expensive for a diet supplement, especially since there is no proof that QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse will actually work.

QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse Conclusion

This QuickTrim Burn and Cleanse review finds this product is not worth your time or money. It does contain a few proven ingredients, but the amounts of each ingredient are undisclosed. If you really want to lose weight, go with a diet pill that includes proven ingredients in the necessary amounts.

This QuickTrim Extreme Burn review will detail the ingredients in QuickTrim Extreme Burn to help you decide if this is the product for you.

QuickTrim Extreme Burn Ingredients

Vitamin C (250 mg) is important to good health, but it does not cause weight loss.
Niacin (20 mg) does not cause weight loss.
Chromium (200 mcg) has shown varying results in clinical studies.

QT Capsimax Super Thermo Complex 225 mg
Caffeine Anhydrous has been shown to contribute to weight loss. However, QuickTrim Extreme Burn fails to list exactly how much caffeine it contains. Therefore, it is impossible for this QuickTrim Extreme Burn review to determine if there is enough caffeine in QuickTrim Extreme Burn to cause weight loss.
Capsimax Capsicum Fruit is cayenne pepper. More research is needed to determine the effect of capsicum on weight loss.
Metabromine is an appetite suppressant. This is another ingredient that needs more clinical backing.
Bioperine increases the body’s ability to absorb nutrients. There is no research to suggest that Bioperine directly contributes to weight loss, but absorbing nutrients better is probably a good thing.

Super C3G Lipolytic Complex (145 mg)
Raspberry
Blackberry
Blueberry
Acai Fruit Extract
Trans-resveratrol
Maqui Fruit
Grape
Pomegranate
Cherry
The ingredients in the Super C3G Lipolytic Complex contain anti-oxidants, which are important to good health. However, none of these ingredients have been proven to contribute to weight loss. Acai is especially popular right now, but don’t be fooled by the celebrity endorsements and bold claims made about acai. There is NO scientific evidence to show that acai does anything to contribute to weight loss.

Raspberry Ketones (75 mg) have been proven to contribute to weight loss in mice. Will it cause weight loss in humans? Possibly.

Extreme Fatloss Catalyst Complex (207 mg)
Green tea is an excellent, clinically proven diet pill ingredient. To be effective, green tea has to be taken in doses of at least 300 mg per day. QuickTrim Extreme Burn fails to list how much green tea it contains, but considering there are only 207 mg total in the Extreme Fatloss Catalyst Complex, this QuickTrim Extreme Burn review finds there is no way QuickTrim Extreme Burn contains enough green tea to contribute to weight loss.
N-acetyl-L-tyrosine causes weight loss, but only when taken in doses of 500 to 1500 mg per day. Again, there is not nearly enough tyrosine in QuickTrim Extreme Burn diet pills to cause weight loss.
Sensoril Ashwagandha
Cinnamon Bark Extract
Banaba Leaf Extract has been proven to lower blood sugar levels, leading to weight loss. Since QuickTrim Extreme Burn fails to list how much banaba it contains, there is no way of knowing if there is enough banaba in QuickTrim Extreme Burn to cause weight loss.
Gymnema Sylvestre also helps control blood sugar levels.
Sclariolide
White Willow Bark Extract is an anti-inflammatory; it does not cause weight loss.

The gist on the ingredients contained in QuickTrim Extreme Burn is that there are a few clinically proven ingredients included. However, it’s difficult to know if they are included in the necessary amounts.

QuickTrim Extreme Burn Cost

QuickTrim Extreme Burn is sold exclusively by GNC and costs $49.99. While this is a medium-high price for a diet pill, being that there isn’t much reason to believe QuickTrim Extreme Burn will actually cause weight loss, I’d say it’s too much.

QuickTrim Extreme Burn Conclusion

This QuickTrim Extreme Burn review finds QuickTrim Extreme Burn is not worth your time or money. It does contain a few proven ingredients, but not in the necessary amounts. If you really want to lose weight, go for a diet pill that contains proven ingredients in the appropriate amounts.

D4 Thermal Shock is a diet pill that “helps you obtain your fat loss and fitness goals much more efficiently than previously thought” (website). This D4 Thermal Shock review will give you the information you can’t find on the Cellucor (D4 Thermal Shock manufacturer) website so you can determine if D4 Thermal Shock is the diet pill for you.

D4 Thermal Shock Ingredients

Embelic Myrobalan Extract
Caffeine is a clinically proven diet pill ingredient. Although D4 Thermal Shock does not list how much of each ingredient it contains, the customer service representative told me there are 298 mg of caffeine contained in D4 Thermal Shock. Based on this information, this D4 Thermal Shock review finds the caffeine in D4 Thermal Shock is sufficient to contribute to weight loss.
White Willow Bark Extract is an anti-inflammatory. It does not cause weight loss.
Octopamine has not been proven to contribute to weight loss.
Yohimbine causes weight loss by mobilizing fatty acids. Unfortunately, D4 Thermal Shock does not reveal how much Yohimbine it contains.
Evodiamine does contribute to weight loss.
Scareolide
Vinpocetine increases blood flow to the brain; it has not been shown to cause weight loss.
Passion Flower Extract
Acetyltyrosine has been shown to contribute to weight loss when taken in doses of 500 to 1500 mg per day. Since there is no record of how much tyrosine D4 Thermal Shock contains, there is no way to determine if it will actually cause weight loss.

This D4 Thermal Shock review finds the ingredients in D4 Thermal Shock could very well cause weight loss, if they are included in the necessary amounts. However, since D4 Thermal Shock does not list how much of each ingredient is included, there is no way of knowing whether or not the product will cause weight loss.

D4 Thermal Shock Cost

D4 Thermal Shock diet pills cost $71.99 for 120 capsules. If you take the maximum recommended dosage of 4 capsules per day, one bottle of D4 Thermal Shock will last a month. This is on the expensive side for a diet pill, but not outrageous considering it actually has potential to be effective.

D4 Thermal Shock Customer Service

I had several questions about D4 Thermal Shock, so I tried their live online chat. Usually this means you are chatting with a computer that can only answer general questions. However, the chat I had about D4 Thermal Shock was with a live person and was very informative.

I asked what how much of each ingredient is included in D4 Thermal Shock. The representative (Jerry) told me that because of patent issues, they can’t release information on ingredient amounts.

He did inform me that if you purchase D4 Thermal Shock you will receive free counseling from a personal trainer. With the trainer you agree on a feasible weight loss goal. If you do not achieve your goal, D4 Thermal Shock will refund your money. Fairly impressive.

D4 Thermal Shock Conclusion

This D4 Thermal Shock review finds there are several effective ingredients contained in D4 Thermal Shock diet pills. Unfortunately, there is no indication of how much of each ingredient is included. While this would usually be reason enough for us not to recommend a product, we really like the guarantee associated with D4 Thermal Shock and the great customer service.

MetaboSpeed is a diet pill that claims to be “Hollywood’s Little Secret Pill.” Have all the celebrities that they have all over their website actually used MetaboSpeed? I don’t know. But if I were to guess, I’d say it’s the same marketing ploy that others have used and nothing more.

Celebrities aside, what does MetaboSpeed have to offer? This MetaboSpeed review will help you find out.

Ingredients

Calcium 35 mg
Phosphorus 25 mg
Guarana Extract 800 mg – Has been shown to be an effective appetite suppressant when combined with yerba mate and damiana. Since MetaboSpeed doesn’t include yerba mate and damiana, it’s difficult to say how effective it will be at helping you to eat less.
Bitter Orange Extract 200 mg – Contains synephrine which is a stimulant that has been shown to be effective in weight loss. We know that there is 200 mg of bitter orange, but that doesn’t tell us how much synephrine is in there. Bottom line: it may or may not be an effective amount.

Proprietary Blend: 160 mg

Cellulose
Green Tea – An effective fat burner that also has many other health benefits.
Korean Ginseng – Some research suggests that it may aid in weight loss, but as of yet, it’s not looking too promising.
Garcinia Cambogia – Garcinia cambogia’s main component is hydroxycitric acid (HCA). HCA may be the reason why the FDA issued warnings against Hydroxycut branded products for the potential health dangers relating to the liver. See the Hydroxycut review for more information.
Bee Pollen
White Willow Bark
Vanadium

The amount of the proprietary blend (160 mg) is much too small for the ingredients in the blend to be of much use. Green tea is effective, but not at the levels I’m assuming is in the proprietary blend. The bitter orange may be effective depending on how much synephrine is in there and I’d like to see more research on guarana by itself before I suggest that it will be effective on its own.

In addition, MetaboSpeed includes HCA which is possibly under scrutiny by the FDA.

MetaboSpeed’s Marketing

It’s fairly obvious that MetaboSpeed is relying heavily on the celebrity image to market to their product. I see this as a flawed tactic. Unfortunately, it may work. But why does the fact that a celebrity tried a product all of a sudden make it more effective or legitimate?

On top of that, I’m not totally convinced (even by the ‘magazine articles’) that the celebrities pictured used the product in the first place.

I liked their small disclaimer:

“*These celebrities have been associated with products we sell, or specific ingredients contained within our products. This does not imply that they either endorse or promote any of these products unless otherwise specified.”

Also, I wasn’t too impressed with the MetaboSpeed website in general. They provide almost no information about the actual product itself – I had to go to Lab 88’s website just to get the ingredient list.

MetaboSpeed’s Price

For a one month supply of MetaboSpeed you’ll pay $39.99 (plus $9.95 shipping and handling). While this isn’t a bad price for an effective diet pill, MetaboSpeed isn’t that effective diet pill. The amounts of the ingredients are simply too low to be effective.

MetaboSpeed’s Guarantee

I was glad to see that they at least offer a 30 day guarantee….until I started reading about it. But I’ll simply quote some of it so you can see for yourself:

This guarantee policy allows you to get your initial payment back via a 100% credit for your purchase (excluding shipping and handling) towards the purchase of other nutraceutical dietary supplement products.

So the ‘guarantee’ is only for credit to buy other products made by their company.

Also, here’s the loops you have jump through just to get that:

 1. Make a written request via email for your credit within 30 days from the date of your order.
2. Obtain a return authorization code and ship back within 30 days from the date of your order all bottles and products shipped to you in sale-able and sealed unopened condition within its original packaging.
3. You must purchase a multi-bottle offer(s) with a minimum purchase price of $74.88 + shipping/handling to be eligible for this offer. Single bottle orders are excluded.
4. Include your order number, full name and contact information including phone number.
5. You must be a first time customer of any of our sites and you must have purchased our product(s) directly via metabospeed.com.

And it only gets worse:

A restocking fee will be the difference between the price of a item that is under the recurrent billing plan and a price of a single bottle order. The restocking fee shall be applied for any returned products with the above guidelines, and deducted from the credit provided. The restocking fee shall also be applied if the recurrent plan is cancelled before the second order was been shipped out.

As per United State Federal Law, we cannot refund or exchange any open bottles or packages.

A horrible restocking fee policy. Also, just fyi, there are plenty of companies that offer refunds on opened bottles so the “per United States Law” bit is rediculous.

Conclusion

MetaboSpeed contains a few good ingredients, but the amounts of those ingredients are likely to be much too small to be effective. I’m not a huge fan of how they’re marketing the product, but that’s just me. The price is decent, but the guarantee is as close to ‘not a guarantee’ as you can get. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Xylacor is a diet pill that “will help to speed your metabolism, suppress your appetite, reduce sweet cravings, block
carbohydrate, and inhibit fat, increase lean mass” (website). While taking Xylacor could result in weight loss, because it contains Ma Huang (ephedra), it could also result in some serious side effects or even death. Thus, this Xylacor review finds that anyone considering taking Xylacor diet pills should do so with caution.

Xylacor Ingredients

Chromium 200 mcg
Ma Huang (167 mg) is ephedra. Although ephedra has been shown to contribute to weight loss, it has been known to cause very serious side effects including death. Because of the dangerous nature of ephedra, it has been banned by the FDA.
Proprietary Herbal Blend (325 mg)
Guarana seed extract has been proven to contribute to weight loss, but only when combined with Damiana and Yerba Mate. Xylacor does not contain Damiana or Yerba Mate. Thus, this Xylacor review finds the Guarana in Xylacor is not effective in causing weight loss.
White willow bark is an anti-inflammatory. It does not directly contribute to weight loss.
Siberian Ginseng root has not been proven to contribute to weight loss.
Astragulus root does not cause weight loss.
Bee pollen does not cause weight loss.
Bladderwrack kelp (Fucus Vesiculosus) is often used as a laxative; it does not directly contribute to weight loss.
Ginger root has healthy benefits, but it does not contribute to weight loss.
Gotu cola leaf does nothing for weight loss.
Licorice root has not been shown to cause weight loss.
Rehmannia root does nothing for weight loss.
Reishi mushroom does nothing for weight loss.
You will note Xylacor diet pills contain only one proven ingredient (Ma Huang), and it is a dangerous ingredient. Therefore, we cannot recommend Xylacor.

Xylacor Cost

Xylacor costs $49.95 for 60 capsules (a one month supply). There is a discount for buying in bulk. This is quite expensive for a diet pill. Although ephedra is an effective diet pill ingredient, given its dangerous possible side effects, any amount is too much to pay for Xylacor diet pills.

Xylacor Website

The Xylacor website is very basic and does not provide information on the company behind Xylacor. Additionally, they fail to list any information about a guarantee for Xylacor diet pills. Usually this means there is no guarantee.
Like many other diet pill websites, the Xylacor site has several testimonials touting the effectiveness of Xylacor. With the inclusion of Ma Huang, we do not doubt Xylacor will cause weight loss, but the Xylacor website fails to say anything about the risks associated with Ma Huang.

Xylacor Conclusion

This Xylacor review finds Xylacor is a rare diet pill that can actually back up its weight loss claims. Unfortunately, the only effective ingredient in Xylacor is Ma Huang, or ephedra. Ephedra can cause seizures, death, or other serious medical problems. Therefore, we cannot recommend using Xylacor. If you want a diet pill that will effectively cause weight loss without the safety concerns associated with Xylacor diet pills, look through our recommended products.

LipoFlush diet pills supposedly “dramatically decrease body fat, increase energy levels, preserve skeletal muscle, and provide major health benefits” (website). This LipoFlush review will dissect the exhausting ingredient list and reveal the truth about the research done on LipoFlush to show you that LipoFlush is not the product you are looking for.

Hydroxycitric Acid Update

On May 1, 2009 the FDA issued a warning to consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut-branded products. Over more than 7 years they have received 23 reports of health related issues with those taking Hydroxycut-branded products. The main health concern appears to be serious liver-related problems. Iovate Health Sciences Inc., the makers of Hydroxcut, have voluntarily recalled all of the products under question in the FDA’s report

Common symptoms of liver complications include:

jaundice (yellowing of the skin)

brown urine

light colored stools

unusual tiredness

stomach pain

itching

loss of appetite

weakness

vomiting

In light of the recent FDA warning concerning the possible dangers of Hydroxycut-branded diet pills, many believe that the associated health risks are likely due to the inclusion of the commonly used ingredient Hydroxycitric Acid, or HCA. And while according to the FDA, “The agency has not yet determined which ingredients, dosages, or other health-related factors may be associated with risks related to these Hydroxycut products. The products contain a variety of ingredients and herbal extracts.” you can never be too cautious.

So, while further study and research is needed to confirm the link between HCA and the liver problems, until proven otherwise any products that contain HCA are no longer recommended on this website.

LipoFlush Ingredients

Vitamin D3 (100 IU) does nothing for weight loss.

Vitamin B5 (10 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Vitamin B6 (25 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Vitamin B12 (1000 mcg) does nothing for weight loss.

Folic Acid (1000 mcg) does nothing for weight loss.

Biotin (100 mcg) does nothing for weight loss.

Potassium (99 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Calcium (415 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Magnesium (200 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Zinc (10 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Chromium (50 mcg) has shown varying results in clinical studies.

Choline (650 mg) supposedly reduces body fat, but studies do not back up this claim.

L-Carnitine (450 mg) has not been proven to contribute to weight loss.

Bioperine (4 mg) increases the body’s ability to absorb nutrients. It does not directly contribute to weight loss.

Citrus Aurantium (300 mg) contains Synephrine, which is a great, proven diet pill ingredient. The important aspect with Synephrine is the concentration–the higher the better. LipoFlush does not disclose the concentration of Synephrine it contains. Therefore, it is impossible for this LipoFlush review to determine if the Synephrine in LipoFlush diet pills is enough to contribute to weight loss.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) (100 mg) does contribute to weight loss, but 100 mg isn’t going to do much.

Cordyceps Sinesis (100 mg)

Garcinia Cambogia (400 mg) does contribute to weight loss.

Hawthorne Berry (100 mg) does nothing for weight loss.

Caffeine (99 mg) is a good weight loss ingredient, but there is not enough caffeine in LipoFlush diet pills to be effective.

LipoFlush Proprietary Complex 4000 mg

Acanthopanax Senticosus

Alpha Lipoic Acid(ALA) helps produce energy. However, the human body makes plenty of ALA, so there is no need to supplement.

Banaba Leaf

Beta Sitosterol

Betaine

Capsicum

Cellulose

Cinnamon

Damiana has been shown to contribute to weight loss when combined with yerba mate and guarana. LipoFlush does contain yerba mate and guarana, but it does not list how much of each is included.

Genistein

Ginger

Grape Seed

Guarana has been shown to contribute to weight loss when combined with yerba mate and damiana. LipoFlush does contain yerba mate and damiana, but it does not list how much of each is included.

Guggul extract is supposed to increase thyroid function, leading to weight loss. However, research does not support these claims.

Glycine

Hoodia does absolutely nothing for weight loss.

Inositol transports fat from the liver. Again, LipoFlush hides how much Inositol it contains.

Kelp

Kola Nut

Lecithin

L-Histidine

L-Tyrosine is effective when included in doses of 500 to 1500 mg per day. It is unlikely that LipoFlush contains enough L-Tyrosine to be effective.

Green Tea is a very effective ingredient, but LipoFlush does not list how much green tea it contains.

Magnesium

Mucuna Puriens

Panax Ginseng

Phosphatidylserine

Quercetine dihydrate

Siler extract

Theobroma Cocoa Complex

White Willow Bark is an anti-inflammatory. It does not cause weight loss.

Yerba Mate has been shown to contribute to weight loss when combined with guarana and damiana. LipoFlush does contain guarana and damiana, but it does not list how much of each is included.

LipoFlush Cost

LipoFlush costs $69.95 for 120 capsules. If you take the recommended 8 capsules per day, one bottle will last 15 days. This is an outrageous price for a diet pill! You can find a more effective diet pill at much less cost. Check out our recommended products.

LipoFlush Research

The LipoFlush website claims there has been research done specifically on LipoFlush. The supposed research was done in-house (which usually means they have altered the results to make them more favorable). Also, there is no formal write-up on the research results; they have not been published anywhere. This makes us very skeptical of the LipoFlush research.

LipoFlush Conclusion

This LipoFlush review finds LipoFlush is really no different from dozens of other diet pills. They do include a few proven ingredients, but in most cases they fail to list how much of each ingredient is included. They try to impress consumers with a very lengthy list of ingredients. The price of LipoFlush is ridiculous. Don’t bother with this product. Instead, go with one of our recommended products; they contain the necessary amount of proven ingredients and they won’t break your bank.

Don’t be taken in by the bold claims made about Thermo Cuts; this Thermo Cuts review finds Thermo Cuts is just an average, ineffective diet pill.

Hydroxycitric Acid Update

On May 1, 2009 the FDA issued a warning to consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut-branded products. Over more than 7 years they have received 23 reports of health related issues with those taking Hydroxycut-branded products. The main health concern appears to be serious liver-related problems.
itching

loss of appetite

In light of the recent FDA warning concerning the possible dangers of Hydroxycut-branded diet pills, many believe that the associated health risks are likely due to the inclusion of the commonly used ingredient Hydroxycitric Acid, or HCA.
So, while further study and research is needed to confirm the link between HCA and the liver problems, until proven otherwise any products that contain HCA are no longer recommended on this website.

Thermo Cuts Ingredients

Chromium (300 mcg) has shown conflicting results in clinical trials.

Proprietary Thermo Cuts Blend (2970 mg)

Garcinia Cambogia Extract (Fruit)(65% HCA) does contribute to weight loss. However, Thermo Cuts hides the amount of Garcinia Cambogia it contains, making it impossible to know if there is enough to be effective.

However, studies included 1500 mg of white kidney bean every day. It is extremely unlikely that Thermo Cuts contains enough white kidney bean to cause weight loss.

Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis L)(Leaf)(40% EGCG/22% Added Caffeinea) does contribute to weight loss, but only when included in doses of 300 mg or more per day.

Promilin™ (Trigonella Foenum-Graecum)(Seed)(20% 4-Hydroxyisoleucine)

Thermo Cuts Cost

Thermo Cuts diet pills cost $25.99 for 200 capsules. If you take the maximum recommended dose of 12 capsules per day, one bottle will last about 16 days. This is quite expensive, especially considering the proven ingredients in Thermo Cuts are included in “proprietary” amounts (in other words, they put in very little of each ingredient just to say it is in there). Don’t bother with Thermo Cuts. Go with a diet pill that includes proven ingredients in proven amounts.

Thermo Cuts Guarantee

The Thermo Cuts website explains their 30 day guarantee. To get your money back, you have to have purchased Thermo Cuts through the website. Also, you have to call their customer service department and get a Return Authorization Number. At least 75% of the product has to be left for you to return the product. This return policy is a joke! If you only take 25% of the capsules, how will you possibly know if it works? Just one more reason to stay away from Thermo Cuts.

Thermo Cuts Conclusion

This Thermo Cuts review finds Thermo Cuts diet pills are really no different from countless others. They contain a few proven ingredients but hide them in a proprietary blend. They gouge you with the price and then make it next to impossible to return the product.

This Power Thin Phase II review will detail the ingredients contained in Power Thin Phase II to help you see what you can really expect from this product.

Power Thin Phase II Ingredients

Advantra Z contains synephrine, a clinically proven diet pill ingredient. The concentration of synephrine determines how effective it will be–the higher the concentration the more effective it is. Unfortunately, Power Thin Phase II fails to list the concentration of synephrine it contains.

Caffeine has been shown to contribute to weight loss. Since Power Thin Phase II diet pills do not say how much caffeine they contain, it is impossible for this Power Thin Phase II review to determine if the caffeine included will be effective.

Green tea is another proven weight loss ingredient. Again, Power Thin Phase II hides the amount of green tea it contains, so there is no way of knowing if it will be effective.

Cocoa seed extract is a feel good ingredient. It does not contribute to weight loss.

Maca

Yerba Mate has been shown to contribute to weight loss when combined with Damiana and Guarana. However, Power Thin Phase II does not contain Damiana or Guarana.

Quercetin

Vinpocetine is used to treat memory problems related to age. It does not cause weight loss.

Yohimbine does contribute to weight loss, but Power Thin Phase II does not list how much Yohimbine it contains.

Acetyl L-Carnitine HCL is supposed to break down fats. More research is needed to substantiate this claim.

Ginger root is used to calm the stomach; it does not cause weight loss.

Gugulipid extract is supposed to increase thyroid function. More research is needed.

L-Tyrosine has been shown to contribute to weight loss when taken in doses of 500 to 1500 mg per day. It is extremely unlikely that Power Thin Phase II diet pills contain enough Tyrosine to be effective.

White willow bark is an anti-inflammatory. It does not contribute to weight loss.

Power Thin Phase II does include several clinically proven ingredients. Unfortunately, the specific amount of each ingredient is not disclosed (usually because they include only trace amounts of these ingredients). If Power Thin Phase II included these ingredients in proven amounts, we would recommend this product, but since they do not, we recommend looking elsewhere.

Power Thin Phase II Guarantee

Power Thin Phase II has an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee. We prefer having 90 days to return a product.

Power Thin Phase II Price

Power Thin Phase II diet pills cost $39.99 for a one month supply. While this is about average for a diet pill, since Power Thin Phase II fails to reveal how much of each ingredient is included, it is too expensive.

Power Thin Phase II Marketing

The Power Thin Phase II website is filled with sensationalized testimonials and photos of models measuring their tiny waistlines. Don’t be impressed by either one–they are probably all fabricated.

Power Thin Phase II Conclusion

This Power Thin Phase II review finds Power Thin Phase II does include several clinically proven diet pill ingredients. Unfortunately, Power Thin Phase II fails to list how much of each ingredient it includes. Thus, we recommend finding a diet pill that is honest about its ingredients–one that includes proven ingredients in proven amounts.

The new and improved version of Stacker 2, Stacker 3 contains Chitosan. The Stacker 3 website claims, “Stacker 3’s powerful formula with Chitosan is designed for those who are in search of a fat burner and dynamic energizer in one supplement. This formula when taken as directed and combined with a reduced calorie diet and exercise program may help burn fat and boost your energy to the next level.” While the formula has changed, the results are the same–Stacker 3 is no more effective than Stacker 2, which is not worth taking.

Iovate Health Sciences Inc., the makers of Hydroxcut, have voluntarily recalled all of the products under question in the FDA’s report

jaundice (yellowing of the skin)

brown urine

light colored stools

unusual tiredness

stomach pain

itching

loss of appetite

weakness

So, while further study and research is needed to confirm the link between HCA and the liver problems, until proven otherwise any products that contain HCA are no longer recommended on this website.

What is in Stacker 3?

The following is the list of ingredients contained in Stacker 3:

Kola Nut (seeds) (4mg caffeine group alkaloids)

Cactus Extract 12:1 (whole plant)

White Willow Bark

Grapefruit Extract (Fruit)

Chitosan (Shellfish)

Caffeine (anhydrous) 250mg

Tri-Guarcinia3 Complex™ 25mg

Green Tea (leaves)(< 1 mg caffeine group alkaloids)

Guarana (seeds)

Garcinia (fruit)

The Kola nut is supposed to diminish sensations of hunger and fatigue and also to aid in digestion.
No studies have actually proven this to be true. One study even found the following concern, “The more pressing issue however, is that there seem to be real cancer-related concerns with at least the tannin in this extract. Long term use could have significant affects on overall health.” ((http://www.savvy-fat-burning-food.com/kola-nut.html))

Cactus extract has been noted as an appetite suppressant, but more human research is needed.

White willow bark is an anti-inflammatory/pain reliever similar to aspirin. It may enhance the thermogenic effect and increase the body’s ability to utilize fatty acids while preserving lean muscle tissue. Once again, further research is needed to substantiate these claims.

Grapefruit extract has been shown to aid in weight loss. Dr Ken Fujioka from the Scripps Clinic in California led a clinical trial funded by the Florida Citrus Commission. One hundred obese subjects (average
weight 98kg; body mass index 35.6kg/m2) were assigned to one of four intervention groups (consumed three times daily before meals) for 12 weeks: (a) 7 oz apple juice plus placebo capsule; (b) 7 oz apple juice plus whole grapefruit extract capsules (Grapefruit Solution by Diaeta); (c) 8oz of grapefruit juice plus placebo capsule; or (d) half of a fresh grapefruit plus placebo capsule. No other dietary modifications were required but the subjects were required to walk 20-30 minutes three to four times weekly.

After 12 weeks, 79 subjects completed the study, with only group D, the fresh grapefruit group, showing statistically significant weight loss compared to placebo (apple juice plus placebo capsules). Body composition (fat, fat-free mass, bone, water) was not assessed. ((http://www.functionalingredientsmag.com/fimag/articleDisplay.asp?strArticleId=555&strSite=FFNSite))
Chitosan is made from shellfish. It is supposed to attract fat and expel it from the body. However, the research shows otherwise. One study found the following:

“In a series of three studies using three different brands of chitosan, we measured the amount of fat in the feces of about 40 people taking chitosan. The claims made by the manufacturer of the product tested included, “Block the absorption of up to 120 grams of fat per day and lose substantial weight.” We studied fat absorption by measuring fat in the feces of volunteers before taking chitosan and while they were taking chitosan. In two of our three published studies, chitosan did not block the absorption of any fat.2,3 In a third study, in women, chitosan did not block any fat from being absorbed. In contrast, in men, the absorption of 1.8 g of fat, or 16 kcal, was blocked. We calculated that it would take 7 months for men to lose 0.45 kg (1 lb) of fat using chitosan.” ((http://docnews.diabetesjournals.org/cgi/content/full/4/3/3))

Green Tea is one of the few diet pill ingredients we stand by — backed by serious amounts of research over many, many years. Read our Green Tea Review to see how we drew our conclusions.

Studies have shown that Guarana can lead to fat cell reduction (when combined with conjugated linoleic acid). However, Stacker 3 does not contain linoleic acid. ((http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guarana#cite_note-17))

Garcinia Cambogia’s primary active compound is Hydroxycitric acid (HCA). Studies have shown taking HCA can promote weight loss. However, study participants took 1.2 grams of HCA per day. Even by taking the maximum daily amount of Stacker 3, you won’t get close to the necessary amount of HCA.

Side Effects of Stacker 3

Stacker 3 has several side effects, including some that could be quite serious. These side effects include dizziness or light-headedness, headaches, and increased heart rate or blood pressure.

Stacker 3 Conclusion

Stacker 3 does not live up to its claims of fat burning and weight loss. Adding Chitosan did nothing to improve this product. Don’t bother with Stacker 3; you will only be disappointed.

Stacker 3 is a weight loss supplement which claims to burn fat.

Stacker 2 is a weight loss supplement which claims to burn fat. The Stacker 2 website claims, “Stacker 2’s proprietary blend is designed for those who are in search of a powerful fat burning diet supplement. This formula when taken as directed and combined with a reduced calorie diet and exercise program may help burn fat, cut cravings and combat diet fatigue.”

The wording of this claim is interesting. Not only do they not disclose how much of each ingredient their “proprietary blend” actually contains, but they do not guarantee it will work. Instead, they say it “may help” if combined with proper diet and exercise. At least they are honest that it may not work, unlike most other weight loss supplement companies.

Stacker 2 Ingredients

Stacker 2 is full of some fairly strange ingredients. The following is the ingredient list found on the Stacker 2 package:

The Proprietary Blend is 198mg.
Kola Nut (seeds) (3mg caffeine group alkaloids), Yerba Mate (leaves), Cassia Mimosoides Extract (leaves/stems/pods), White Willow Bark, Caffeine (anhydrous) 200mg, Tri-GuggLyptoid3 Complex™ 25mg*
Green Tea (leaves) (< 1 mg caffeine group alkaloids), Guggulsterone (whole plant), Gymnema (Leaves).

The Kola nut is supposed to diminish sensations of hunger and fatigue and also to aid in digestion.
No studies have actually proven this to be true. One study even found the following concern:

“The more pressing issue however, is that there seem to be real cancer-related concerns with at least the tannin in this extract. Long term use could have significant affects on overall health.”

Yerba mate’ contains mainly caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine. These ingredients supposedly promote central nervous stimulation and help the body to shed water as well as suppress appetite. Additionally, caffeine, theophylline and theobromine appear to suppress appetite, and boost metabolism.
However, there is not adequate research to support this. (As an aside, when you combine Yerba Mate with a few other key ingredients, the effect is great — as shown by some interesting research).

Cassia Mimosoides Extract is thought to be a lipase inhibitor. Some studies in rats have shown fat loss, but no studies have been performed on humans.

Green tea is one ingredient we do like to see in diet pills. There are mountains of research showing that it can be effective (when included at a high enough dose) in increasing your metabolic rate. You can read our much more thorough green tea review if you want more information.

Guggulsterone is an herb which has been proven to increase thyroid output, which can, in turn, increase metabolism. Research has shown that taking 1.5-3 grams of Guggulsterones daily significantly increase metabolism. ((http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10740691?dopt=Abstract))

Interesting enough, Stacker 2 does not disclose how much Gugglusterone is contained in each capsule. However, it does list the total Tri-GuggLyptoid3 Complex™ at 25mg per capsule. Thus, it is impossible to get the 1.5 grams needed daily to make a difference.

Gymnema is used to treat water retention (relatively effectively).

Side Effects of Stacker 2

Stacker 2 has several side effects, including some that could be quite serious. These side effects include dizziness or light-headedness, headaches, and increased heart rate or blood pressure. The high amount of caffeine can also cause sleeplessness and jitters. Be your own best judge on how caffeine affects you.

Stacker 2 Review Conclusion

Stacker 2 is made of unproven ingredients in undisclosed amounts. This is not the supplement you are looking for. Look for a weight loss supplement that has proven ingredients in correct (clincially-researched) amounts.
