Liporexall is a newcomer in the market but one that seems to have quite a bit of potential. It contains a number of great diet pill ingredients, almost all of which have been patented. While their claim that you’ll “Permanently Lose 900% More Body Fat” is a bit far fetched, the bottom line is that it shows some definite promise.

This Liporexall review will dig a little deeper to see if Liporexall is as impressive as it’s first impression leads us to believe.

Liporexall Ingredients

ChromeMate – ChromeMate, a patented form of chromium, is designed to regulate levels of sugar in the blood. Many believe this leads to weight loss.

Super Citrimax – Super Citrimax is a proven weight loss ingredient due to it’s inclusion of HCA. HCA has been shown to inhibit fat production and suppress appetite.

*Note: On May 1, 2009 the FDA issued a warning to consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut-branded products. Over more than 7 years they have received 23 reports of health related issues with those taking Hydroxycut-branded products. The main health concern appears to be serious liver-related problems. Iovate Health Sciences Inc., the makers of Hydroxcut, have voluntarily recalled all of the products under question in the FDA’s report.

In light of the recent FDA warning concerning the possible dangers of Hydroxycut-branded diet pills, many believe that the associated health risks are likely due to the inclusion of the commonly used ingredient Hydroxycitric Acid, or HCA. And while according to the FDA, “The agency has not yet determined which ingredients, dosages, or other health-related factors may be associated with risks related to these Hydroxycut products. The products contain a variety of ingredients and herbal extracts.” you can never be too cautious.

So, while further study and research is needed to confirm the link between HCA and the liver problems, until proven otherwise any products that contain HCA are no longer recommended on this website.

Pinnothin – Pinnothin is meant to cause appetite suppression.

NeOpuntia – A complex of fibers that binds with fat in order to make them unabsorbable, NeOpuntia a good diet pill ingredient with quite a bit of research backing it up.

Phase-2 – A starch neutralizer, Phase-2 is designed to block the starch. Phase-2 is a great addition to other quality ingredients.

7-KETO – While more research is certainly desirable, 7-KETO has shown to be an effective weight loss ingredient. It helps to break down DHEA, which aids in weight loss.

ForsLean – Research shows that forskohlin, the main ingredient in ForsLean, helps to promote lean muscle mass.

Infinergy DiCaffeine Malate – Infinergy contains caffeine, which has been shown to increase metabolic function, leading to weight loss. Caffeine is one of the few diet pill ingredients that is actually fully backed by loads of research.

Tonalin – Another quality ingredient, Tonalin is a patented form of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). CLA a lot of research backing up it’s claims to help retain muscle while lowering body fat.

Bioperine – Bioperine is a patented ingredient designed to help in the absorption of nutrients. While it won’t cause weight loss by itself, it’s a welcomed addition to other effective ingredients.

All in all the ingredients in Liporexall looks to be quite effective. The inclusion of Super Citrimax (which contains HCA), however, causes me to not recommend the product in light of the recent news with Hydroxycut.

Liporexall’s Marketing

I like that the Liporexall website contains a good deal of information about each ingredient in the product and has a very clear focus on the ingredients throughout the site. Too many diet pills barely mention the ingredients and do little more than spit a sales pitch at you. Knowing the ingredients, you can do your own research to see if it will be effective.

I’m not quite so sure about the lofty claims Liporexall (900% increase in weight loss, build 700% more lean muscle, etc.), but I’ll let you be the judge.

A Lifetime Guarantee

While there was little information about the requirements/process of the money back guarantee, they do have a lifetime guarantee. This is an amazing guarantee in this industry (anything over 60 days is pretty good).

How Much does Liporexall Cost?

One bottle of Liporexall will cost $49.99 and should last you 30 days. They do offer discounts for larger orders.

Liporexall Conclusion

Liporexall contains some solid ingredients. While I wish we knew how much of each was included, the ingredient profile is likely to be very effective. The prices is average, and the guarantee is great. If it didn’t have HCA thrown in the mix, I would recommend Liporexall.

This Slim 10 review will detail each ingredient in Slim 10 diet pills and help you determine if this is the diet pill for you.

Hydroxycitric Acid Update

On May 1, 2009 the FDA issued a warning to consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut-branded products. Over more than 7 years they have received 23 reports of health related issues with those taking Hydroxycut-branded products. The main health concern appears to be serious liver-related problems. Iovate Health Sciences Inc., the makers of Hydroxcut, have voluntarily recalled all of the products under question in the FDA’s report

Common symptoms of liver complications include:

jaundice (yellowing of the skin)

brown urine

light colored stools

unusual tiredness

stomach pain

itching

loss of appetite

weakness

vomiting

Slim 10 Ingredients

Slim 10 contains a proprietary blend of the following ingredients:

Advantra Z® is made of Synephrine. In clinical studies, Synephrine has been proven to contribute to weight loss.
Super Citrimax® contains HCA from the South Asian fruit Garnicia cambogia. It is a proven appetite suppressant and inhibits fat production.
Tonalin® is made of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). It is proven to preserve lean muscle and reduce body fat.
Phase 2® is made from white kidney beans. Clinical studies have shown Phase 2 blocks calories from starch, leading to weight loss.
7-Keto® is a metabolite of DHEA. It has been shown to contribute to weight loss.
NeOpuntia® is from the Opuntia ficus indica cactus. The fibers bind with the fat so it is not absorbed.
ForsLean® is made of Forskohlin, which promotes lean body mass, which helps you lose weight.
Slimaluma® is made of Caralluma Fimbriata Extract, an ancient Indian cactus which allegedly works as an appetite suppressant. More research is needed on Caralluma Fimbriata.
ChromeMate® is simply Chromium. Chromium deficiencies are extremely rare. Studies have found conflicting results about Chromium’s efficiency in promoting weight loss.
CarniPure® contains Carnitine. Carnitine is supposed to help breakdown fats. More research is needed on Carnitine.

Slim 10 also contains 500 mg of Real South African Hoodia.

While many of the ingredients in Slim 10 have been proven to successfully promote weight loss,
since they are included in a “proprietary blend”, there is no way to know how much of each ingredient
is actually included. Thus, it is impossible for this Slim 10 review to determine how effective
Slim 10 diet pills actually are. Companies usually use proprietary blends to disguise how little of
each ingredient they have included in their formula.

Slim 10 Could Cause Liver Failure

Several reputable sources (including Time Magazine and the BBC) are reporting that several women have experienced liver failure from taking Slim 10.
This is very concerning to us.
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,333902,00.html
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/2036480.stm

Slim 10 Cost

Slim 10 costs $75 for one month supply. This is very expensive considering there is no way to prove if this product works. We do like that Slim 10 gives an autoship option. We generally do not like autoship, but at least there is an option not to use autoship. However, their shipping rate is $20 per order, which is very high for a diet pill.

Slim 10 Guarantee

Slim 10 offers a “100% refund” for returns made within 90 days of purchase. You will have to pay shipping charges to return the product as well as a $7.95 restocking fee.

Slim 10 Marketing

Slim 10 does a good job promoting each individual ingredient in their product. They list legitimate clinical studies done on the ingredients. However, they do not disclose how much of each ingredient is included in Slim 10, so it is impossible to know whether the ingredients will be effective.

Slim 10 Conclusion

This Slim 10 review finds that Slim 10 diet pills include some great ingredients. Unfortunately, they fail to list how much of each ingredient is included, making it impossible to know how effective Slim 10 will be. We are very concerned about the possibility of liver failure from using Slim 10. We encourage you to look for a product that contains proven ingredients such as those in Slim 10, but be sure they are included in effective amounts.

Tonalin® XS-CLA™ contains up to 82% CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) from natural safflower oil.” While their product may be patented, it is very similar to other diet pills with the same name. This Tonalin XS-CLA review will explore how effective this product is, how it differs from other products, and what you might be able to expect from it.

We’ll recap quickly what Tonalin does in relation to weight management:

Tonalin is not a stimulant.
Tonalin is a CLA, or conjugated linoleic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid in meat, eggs, cheese, milk, etc.
Tonalin (CLA) limits the uptake of dietary fat by your fat cells.

From our Tonalin Review:

“Conjugated Linoleic Acid Reduces Body Fat in Healthy Exercising Humans” – the gist of the study is that the CLA group saw a decrease in their body fat from 21.3% to 17.0% with a few pounds reduction in body weight. You may wonder why the body weight loss wasn’t more when their BFP dropped by 20%? The probable reason is that their lean muscle increased.

What are the ingredients in Tonalin XS-CLA by Nature’s Way?

Tonalin XS-CLA diet pills contain the following ingredients

Each capsule contains:
Calories 10
Calories from Fat 10
Total Fat 1 g
Safflower Seed Oil 1 g (1,000 mg)
Other ingredients: Gelatin (softgel), Glycerin, Purified Water, Caramel

1g of Tonalin (also known as linoleic acid, which is found in Safflower seed oil) is on the very high end for Tonalin dosage, which allows us to give Nature’s Way Tonalin XS-CLA a thumbs up in that regard.

How much does Tonalin XS-CLA cost?

You can get a bottle of 90 softgels for an average price of $25. If you take the recommended dose of three softgels per day, one bottle of Tonalin XS-CLA diet pills will last you a month. This is relatively inexpensive as far as diet pills go.

What does Tonalin XS-CLA do exactly?

According to the Nature’s Way website, you can expect Tonalin XS-CLA diet pills to do the following:

Boost weight loss
Decrease body fat
Increase muscle mass
Burn more calories when working out
Boost body’s immune system

Tonalin XS-CLA – Anything Else to Offer?

Tonalin XS-CLA, lacks some of the stimulants of other popular (and effective) weight loss pills. But this may a be a good thing for those looking for a stimulant free solution to weight loss.

Tonalin XS-CLA Conclusion

This Tonalin XS-CLA review likes that Nature’s Way was aggressive in the dosage amount of Tonalin in Tonalin XS-CLA. Being that it doesn’t contain stimulants, Tolanlin XS-CLA is a good option for those that don’t fair well with caffeine or other stimulantds.

CLA is a naturally occurring fatty acid, derived from safflower seeds (a premium dietary source of CLA). CLA inhibits the lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme that breaks down fat from our diet so that it can be absorbed and stored in the body.” (NSI website) They also claim “Each NSI® Tonalin XS-CLA softgel features clinically proven and stimulant-free Tonalin, containing 72-82% CLA, up to 35% higher than other brands. Along with diet and exercise. Tonalin XS-CLA may help to increase lean muscle, which burns more fat calories, promoting additional slimming.” This Tonalin XS-CLA review will breakdown these claims and help you see just how this diet pill might affect you.

A closer look at Tonalin

Tonalin is not a stimulant.

What ingredients are included in Tonalin XS-CLA diet pills?

The ingredients in Tonalin XS-CLA by NSI are as follows

Polyunsaturated fat lowers levels of total and LDL cholesterol in the blood but has not been shown to contribute to weight loss.

How much does Tonalin XS-CLA by NSI cost?

A bottle of 120 softgels will cost you around $11.99. If you take the recommended dose of three softgels per day, one bottle will last 40 days. This ends up being about 30 cents per day. This is EXTREMELY inexpensive for a diet pill.

Tonalin XS-CLA conclusion

This Tonalin XS-CLA review finds that Tonalin XS-CLA diet pills do contain a high amount of Tonalin (CLA), which can contribute to weight loss.

Tonalin CLA is made by Natrol with the claim to “help you reduce your body fat and increase muscle retention.” We reviewed Tonalin a while back, as it’s included as an ingredient in a few diet pills we recommend. All in all, we like Tonalin. It’s been supported by research.

So What Does Natrol’s Tonalin CLA Have to Offer?

Tonalin CLA contains 1000 mg (1 g) of a “Tonalin Proprietary Blend”. The blend consists of:

Conjugated linoleic acid

Oleic acid

Palmitic acid

Stearic acid

Linoleic acid

1g of Tonalin is on the high end for Tonalin dosage, which allows us to give Natrol’s Tonalin CLA a thumbs up in that regard. However…

Tonalin CLA

Tonalin CLA, while relatively inexpensive, isn’t as “aggressive” as other alternatives. Could it be improved by containing some thermogenic compounds? Sure. But for those that are looking for a more gentle approach (less stimulants) than Tonalin CLA may be a good choice. While Natrol claims that Tonalin CLA helps build muscle, that is patently false. It has nothing to do with muscle building.

Update (4/8/2008): Criticalorie was contacted by Steven Spitz, Vice President and General Counsel for Natrol where the following four issues were raised (you can read the letter in full here if you’d like):

Our Tonalin review failed to inaccurately describe the product claims. Natrol makes the claim that Tonalin CLA helps retain muscle whereas we said they claimed it helped build muscle. Some research from the Tonalin website stated the following: “CLA group had greater increases in lean tissue mass and greater losses of fat mass and percent fat compared with the placebo group.” We failed to find this research supporting CLA when we first reviewed Natrol’s Tonalin and regret the error.

Our Tonalin review presented Natrol in a disparaging manner based on false information. (See #1 above).

Our Tonalin review included an unsubstantiated superlative claim. We make recommendations based on the information we find about various products — not based on “reliable research comparing the relative benefits of each product” (see the letter above). We have changed the wording above to no longer be a “better alternative”, but simply an “alternative”.

Our Tonalin review failed to properly display intellectual property. We weren’t sure exactly what was was about, but surmised that it had to do with the image of the Natrol Tonalin product at the beginning of this review. We’ve removed the image.

We would like to also mention how agreeable the letter was overall, and complement Natrol on their amiable, professional approach in highlighting our errors and/or missteps.

Tonalin CLA Review Conclusion

We like that Natrol was aggressive in the dosage amount of Tonalin in Tonalin CLA. If you’re looking for a bit of weight loss without any stimulants, Tonalin CLA may work for you. If you’re looking for something with which you can be a bit more aggressive, you should probably look for a pill with a few more thermogenic compounds.

Anoretix is one of the few diet pills I’m comfortable recommending. Most of the time when I take a hard look at diet pills I see a lot of the same thing: a bit of caffeine, a bit of hype and…well, that’s just about it. With Anoretix, I was pleasantly surprised to see some quality ingredients in there.

Common symptoms of liver complications include:

jaundice (yellowing of the skin)

brown urine

light colored stools

unusual tiredness

stomach pain

itching

loss of appetite

weakness

vomiting

Anoretix Ingredients

Each of Anoretix‘ ingredients are patented and backed up by research (a rarity in the diet pill industry). I’ve done my best to find that research and highlight in each ingredient’s individual review. While one ingredient, standing on its own, may not produce stunning weight loss (there isn’t a diet pill out there that will), when used in concert, these ingredients pack some good weight loss punch — some of the best I’ve seen. You can click on each of these Anoretix ingredients and find a detailed review about each one.

Anoretix Superior Customer Service

As a little test, which I’ll do on occasion, I emailed sales@anoretix.com with a fake inquiry to gauge responsiveness (this was done at 10:30 am, MST):

Hi, my name’s Cal and I placed an order for Anoretix about three weeks ago…still haven’t received it. What’s the deal?

I received a response at 1:18 pm, MST same day asking me if I could supply my full name or an order number so they could investigate further. So, they passed the customer service litmus test.

Anoretix Guarantee

I raved a few days ago about Fentraphen’s 90-day moneyback guarantee and then just about fell out of my chair when I saw the Anoretix guarantee. They’ll guarantee their product for life. This does not mean you can use it all and then send them back empty bottles and want a refund. They won’t refund bottles that are opened (no diet pill company that I’ve found will). What this does mean is that if you order three bottles try one and don’t like it, you can send back the other two a year later and still get a refund. I like this guarantee! Hopefully their competitors will see this and follow suit to give consumers a bit of a break.

Anoretix Pricing

Anoretix is priced to sell. It’s not dirt cheap, but it’s also not overly expensive. Whenever a pill contains patented ingredients, there’s an associated cost for manufacturing that pill. It would follow that diet pills containing these expensive ingredients would cost a bit more. Frankly, I’m surprised they don’t list it 25% higher. I know some other products sell for a lot more when they offer a lot less (Leptoprin, Leptopril and Zantrex-3 come to mind).

Overall Conclusion for Anoretix

I’m thoroughly impressed. With a stacked lineup like they have, it’s hard not to be. Anoretix looks to be a great aid as you consider your weight loss plan.
