Sensa Review
Sensa is a weight loss approach that supposedly enhances your sense of smell to help you lose weight. Sensa makes big claims and supposedly has research to back up these claims, but when you look further, you realize how absurd most of their claims are. This Sensa review finds Sensa is nothing more than another weight loss gimmick out to get your money.
What is Sensa?
The Sensa website goes through a lengthy scientific explanation of what Sensa is. The long and short of it is Sensa is a powder (which they call a “Tastant”) you sprinkle on your food (similar to salt). It is supposed to enhance your sense of smell to suppress appetite. You are supposed to switch to a new Tastant every month to continue losing weight. Sounds a little far fetched doesn’t it? The website fails to say what is in Sensa, only that it is a patented formula.
Sensa Price
You have two options when buying Sensa:
1. You can buy a “6-month Starter Kit” for $235.
2. You can sign up for autoship for $33 per month with a 6 month commitment (they automatically send you more each month and charge your credit card).
Either way, they have you locked in for 6 months. This is just a sneaky way of getting a lot of money out of you. You can’t just buy a one month supply and try it out.
Sensa Affiliate Program
Sensa has an Affiliate Program you can sign up for. Basically, Sensa is a multi level (pyramid) scheme; they give you commission if you get other people to sign up. This is becoming common with shady diet products. Don’t fall prey to their scheme.
How Is Sensa to be Used?
The Sensa website states the following:
“The amount of Tastants depends on how large your meal is, so just use your best judgment and don’t over think it.” I don’t know about you, but if I am paying $235 for a product, I want to know exactly how to use it so it will be most effective. Why can’t they tell you how much to put on? Probably because it doesn’t matter–it won’t work no matter how much you put on.
Also, you are supposed to start using a new package of the Tastants each month because they supposedly are different and your body can build a tolerance to them. The Sensa website explains:
“Depending on how much you eat, you may have extra Tastants at the end of the month. You would still move to the next month’s Tastants. This is because your body can become accustomed to the Tastants and will not be as effective if you use them for longer than 30 days.” Here is just one more way they can get more money out of you–they tell you to throw away some of the product so you have to use more.
The website also says that after the first 6 months you should start over with month 1. This completely contradicts what they say about throwing away any leftover product after a month. If it is less effective after the first month, why would they tell you to start over with the same formulation in month 7? It just doesn’t make sense.
Sensa Research
The Sensa website claims research done on Sensa showed participants who used Sensa lost an average of over 30 pounds. However, there was no measurement of how much Sensa these participants used. And, since, according to the Sensa website, you can use as much as you see fit, there is no way to prove that the weight participants lost was actually due to Sensa and not to other possible factors (exercise, diet, metabolism, other diet products, etc).
Sensa Conclusion
This Sensa review finds there is no reason to believe Sensa will contribute to weight loss. The supposed research is just not scientific; they did not measure how much Sensa was used. This product is way too expensive. Don’t waste your time or money on Sensa.
