MetaboSpeed Review

metabospeedMetaboSpeed is a diet pill that claims to be “Hollywood’s Little Secret Pill.” Have all the celebrities that they have all over their website actually used MetaboSpeed? I don’t know. But if I were to guess, I’d say it’s the same marketing ploy that others have used and nothing more.

Celebrities aside, what does MetaboSpeed have to offer? This MetaboSpeed review will help you find out.

Ingredients

Calcium 35 mg
Phosphorus 25 mg
Guarana Extract 800 mg – Has been shown to be an effective appetite suppressant when combined with yerba mate and damiana. Since MetaboSpeed doesn’t include yerba mate and damiana, it’s difficult to say how effective it will be at helping you to eat less.
Bitter Orange Extract 200 mg – Contains synephrine which is a stimulant that has been shown to be effective in weight loss. We know that there is 200 mg of bitter orange, but that doesn’t tell us how much synephrine is in there. Bottom line: it may or may not be an effective amount.

Proprietary Blend: 160 mg

Cellulose
Green Tea – An effective fat burner that also has many other health benefits.
Korean Ginseng – Some research suggests that it may aid in weight loss, but as of yet, it’s not looking too promising.
Garcinia Cambogia – Garcinia cambogia’s main component is hydroxycitric acid (HCA). HCA may be the reason why the FDA issued warnings against Hydroxycut branded products for the potential health dangers relating to the liver. See the Hydroxycut review for more information.
Bee Pollen
White Willow Bark
Vanadium

The amount of the proprietary blend (160 mg) is much too small for the ingredients in the blend to be of much use. Green tea is effective, but not at the levels I’m assuming is in the proprietary blend. The bitter orange may be effective depending on how much synephrine is in there and I’d like to see more research on guarana by itself before I suggest that it will be effective on its own.

In addition, MetaboSpeed includes HCA which is possibly under scrutiny by the FDA.

MetaboSpeed’s Marketing

It’s fairly obvious that MetaboSpeed is relying heavily on the celebrity image to market to their product. I see this as a flawed tactic. Unfortunately, it may work. But why does the fact that a celebrity tried a product all of a sudden make it more effective or legitimate?

On top of that, I’m not totally convinced (even by the ‘magazine articles’) that the celebrities pictured used the product in the first place.

I liked their small disclaimer:

“*These celebrities have been associated with products we sell, or specific ingredients contained within our products. This does not imply that they either endorse or promote any of these products unless otherwise specified.”

Also, I wasn’t too impressed with the MetaboSpeed website in general. They provide almost no information about the actual product itself – I had to go to Lab 88’s website just to get the ingredient list.

MetaboSpeed’s Price

For a one month supply of MetaboSpeed you’ll pay $39.99 (plus $9.95 shipping and handling). While this isn’t a bad price for an effective diet pill, MetaboSpeed isn’t that effective diet pill. The amounts of the ingredients are simply too low to be effective.

MetaboSpeed’s Guarantee

I was glad to see that they at least offer a 30 day guarantee….until I started reading about it. But I’ll simply quote some of it so you can see for yourself:

This guarantee policy allows you to get your initial payment back via a 100% credit for your purchase (excluding shipping and handling) towards the purchase of other nutraceutical dietary supplement products.

So the ‘guarantee’ is only for credit to buy other products made by their company.

Also, here’s the loops you have jump through just to get that:

1. Make a written request via email for your credit within 30 days from the date of your order.
2. Obtain a return authorization code and ship back within 30 days from the date of your order all bottles and products shipped to you in sale-able and sealed unopened condition within its original packaging.
3. You must purchase a multi-bottle offer(s) with a minimum purchase price of $74.88 + shipping/handling to be eligible for this offer. Single bottle orders are excluded.
4. Include your order number, full name and contact information including phone number.
5. You must be a first time customer of any of our sites and you must have purchased our product(s) directly via metabospeed.com.

And it only gets worse:

A restocking fee will be the difference between the price of a item that is under the recurrent billing plan and a price of a single bottle order. The restocking fee shall be applied for any returned products with the above guidelines, and deducted from the credit provided. The restocking fee shall also be applied if the recurrent plan is cancelled before the second order was been shipped out.

As per United State Federal Law, we cannot refund or exchange any open bottles or packages.

A horrible restocking fee policy. Also, just fyi, there are plenty of companies that offer refunds on opened bottles so the “per United States Law” bit is rediculous.

Conclusion

MetaboSpeed contains a few good ingredients, but the amounts of those ingredients are likely to be much too small to be effective. I’m not a huge fan of how they’re marketing the product, but that’s just me. The price is decent, but the guarantee is as close to ‘not a guarantee’ as you can get. I suggest looking elsewhere.
