CritiCalorie's Top Diet Pill Pick
Do we ever rate a diet pill positively?. Yes (rarely). Why aren't we recommending Green Tea HP? We're looking for clinically-researched ingredients, at the right (that means clinical) dosage. There are a few diet pills that have chosen this better route, and our favorite is Boda Extract No. 3. You can read our review or go to the official site.
Green Tea HP Review
Green Tea HP is a fairly new weight loss/wellness product to hit the market. It appears to have originally been sold through shopping mall kiosks, but have since moved to a network marketing sales model (more on that later).
Green tea has long been seen as an effective weight loss ingredient, so how does the product Green Tea HP stand up against the competition? Read on to find out.
Ingredients
Green Tea – Green tea is a solid weight loss ingredient that is backed by loads of research and clinical studies. Green tea contains caffeine, so those that are particularly sensitive to caffeine should take note.
Acai – Acai has become quite popular as of late, mostly due to the marketing hype of diet pill companies and not due to the actual weight loss potential of the ingredient. It is a great antioxidant and a healthy supplement to take, but it will do little to actually cause you to lose weight.
Noni Juice – Noni is a tropical fruit (technical name is morinda citrifolia) that some believe has various health benefits.
Pomegranate Juice – Also contains antioxidants that help overall health, but will cause no weight loss.
Resveratrol – A phytoalexin found in the skin of red grapes, resveratrol has many health benefits. Its effectiveness in weight loss has yet to be determined.
L-Theanine – An amino acid, l-theanine has been shown to help reduce stress. Often diet pills will include l-theanine to counteract effects of stimulants such as caffeine. Will it cause weight loss? No.
Bioperine – A thermonutrient, bioperine helps to absorb nutrients. While it won’t cause weight loss, it may help in the absorption of ingredients that will.
Looking at the ingredient profile, the only real ingredient that will cause weight loss is green tea. The other ingredients are basically support ingredients. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing since green tea is such a highly effective weight loss ingredient.
Green Tea HP’s Marketing
What I do like about the Green Tea HP website is that they actually have a fair amount of information concerning the studies that back up their claims about the health benefits. In most cases they provide a listing of citations allowing you to verify the results of the study for yourself.
What I don’t like about the marketing (and mostly the marketing of other websites pushing Green Tea HP) is that they claim to have about every health benefit under the sun. Just be wise of the fact that while the product is likely to have numerous health benefits, it’s certainly not the miracle product that will solve all your health problems, (preventing cancer, kidney disease, osteoporosis, etc.) like it’s made out to be.
Gree Tea HP’s New Sales Tactic: Network Marketing
From what I can tell, Green Tea HP was originally sold in kiosks in shopping malls. They are now (and the switch seems to be rather recently) moving to a network marketing sales method (same method used by Tahitian Noni, Avon, etc.). This means that you can become a distributor for Green Tea HP and sell the product.
I’m personally not a big fan of network marketing because there is often more of a focus on selling other people on the ‘business opportunity’ than there is on the actual product. In most cases it’s just a way for the company to grow fast and grow rich. I can’t say if the same goes for Green Tea HP, but don’t be too surprised if your long lost friend calls you after 5 years of no contact trying to sell you a new and amazing wellness formula called Green Tea HP.
To each their own I guess.
Green Tea HP’s Price
Green Tea HP comes in many different varieties and sizes. I appears that a standard order would the “variety sixty” which comes with 60 “pixies” (doses). Per the instructions you take two doses per day so this sixty pack will last one month.
A sixty pack of Green Tea HP costs $79.95. This is definitely on the more expensive side of the weight loss product spectrum.
Green Tea HP’s Guarantee
It doesn’t appear that the company offers any kind of money back guarantee.
Conclusion
Green Tea HP’s ingredients look to be ok. Green tea is a good weight loss ingredient that is likely to help you with drop some weight. Green Tea is also positioning itself as more of a wellness product, and not just a weight loss drink.
The price is a little high and the lack of guarantee makes me a little cautious. Also, take note that you may see quite a bit of biased testimonials based on the fact that virtually anyone can become a distributor for the company and has something to gain.
