Acai-aSlim
Acai-aSlim is a new Acai based diet pill that is being marketed like crazy right now, especially on the internet. Bottom line: Acai-aSlim is a worthless diet pill and a scam. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that acai (as an ingredient) is a bad ingredient (it’s actually a great antioxidant that is sure to have many health benefits, but by itself, it won’t cause weight loss). What I am saying is that this particular acai supplement, Acai-aSlim, is a ripoff and a scam. See the autoship information below to see why it’s a scam.
I’m starting to see a pattern here among many of the acai based pills. For one, it’s popularity has exploded despite the fact that it, by itself, will not cause weight loss (I’m reminded of the hoodia gordonii fad). But two, a lot of companies have chosen to jump on the acai bandwagon by engaging in shady marketing (the sneaky authoship) that just rips people off. So not only are you getting an inferior product, but you’re often taken advantage of by having them charge your credit card without you expecting it (again, see the autoship info below).
This Acai-aSlim review will give you the details needed in order to make the right decision by not purchasing thier product.
Ingredients
Acai - Again, acai is a very healthy supplement, but it will not cause weight loss by itself. It’s a good antioxidant, but it’s being marketed as something that it’s not (something that will shed the pounds off).
Hwaiian Noni – Another healthy supplement that wont cause weight loss.
Resveratrol - Yes…another healthy supplement that has not been proven to aid in weight loss at all.
Green Tea – Wow, finally an ingredient that actually has some studies backing up its claims to weight loss. Green tea has been shown to increase the metabolic rate. They don’t disclose the amount of green tea in the pill so, judging from the companies other marketing tactics, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that there’s probably not enough green tea in there to make a difference.
Acai-aSlim’s Marketing (aka The Autoship)
Acai-aSlim engages in the same shady marketing tactics as many others in the industry. They use an autoship program. In a nutshell, when you enroll in an autoship program they automatically send your supply of pills to you every month (time frames vary) and automatically charge your credit card. Not too bad right? Well when companies are upfront about their autoship programs and the customers know about it, then no, it’s not so bad. But what most companies do, Acai-aSlim included, is they hide the facts about the autoship in their ‘terms and conditions’ or something similar. Often they’ll offer a ‘free trial,’ have you pay for shipping (so they have your credit card info, and wham! 15-30 days later you have a massive charge on your credit card for up to 3 months of product that they just mailed to your house. Ouch! Sound unethical? It is.
Acai-aSlim’s Autoship – In Acai-aSlim’s case, I found the info on their autoship hidden in their terms and conditions. PLEASE read the terms of any free trial that you see (it’s usually hidden in tiny font at the bottom of the page). Acai-aSlim’s reads as follows:
“By agreeing to the terms of the Agreement, Customer automatically receives 14-day trial to the Program. Customer has 14 days to try the Program and decide whether to accept the Program full-time. Prior to the expiration of the 14-day trial period, Customer may cancel its subscription by calling toll-free at 877-317-0189 or writing to Acai-aSlim, 16192 Coastal Highway Lewes, DE 19958. Should Customer fail to cancel its subscription, its Subscription with Reg.Net will become active and Customer will be billed $79.95 on the 16th day after its trial begins and every month thereafter.”
Wow! A whopping $80 per month. I also read that it can be extremely difficult for you to even cancel within the 14 days of similar programs (they give you the runaround on the phone).
Bottom line: Acai-aSlim is 1. not worth the price and 2. a scam designed to suck as much money out of you as possible.
Note: I found a complaint posted about this product’s autoship program. Click here to see for yourself.
Acai-aSlim’s Price
As mentioned above it’s $79.95 per month which is rediculously high!
Acai-aSlim’s Guarantee
From their ‘terms’: “Return and Cancellation Policy 30 Day Risk Free Satisfaction Guarantee Optimum benefits are most often realized with at least 90 days of continued use.” They claim a 30 day guarantee, but it’s looking pretty shady to me. I wouldn’t count on getting any of your money back.
Conclusion
Avoid Acai-aSlim like the plague. The diet pill itself isn’t going to help you lose much weight at all anyway. And even if it did, they fact that they try to rob you poor using their sneaky autoship program is reason enough to stay away. And the price is rediculous (for what you’re getting)! You can go to your local health food store and buy acai for much cheaper. Look for a diet pill with straight forward marketing and business practices and that has proven ingredients in proven amounts.
