Thermodrenix Review

ThermodrenixShort of sounding like a billboard, Thermodrenix has me very, very excited.

I was actually contacted by the owner of Blackstone Health Sciences quite a while back and he had the gall (confidence?) to send me their formulation before they even went to market. He wanted my feedback.

That may not sound so crazy, except for the fact that it’s never happened. Normally, diet pill companies only contact me to ask me to take my review down (or at least soften it) — which I won’t do. And here BHS contacts me because they’re certain I’ll like what they’ve come up with.

The short of it is that I do. A lot.

***Thermodrenix Review Update***

Because of the recent concern and newly found evidence that the ingredient Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) may be linked to certain health concerns dealing with the liver, we are no longer recommending Thermodrenix as a diet pill. PatenTrim contains Super CitriMax, whose active component is HCA. The FDA, in a recent warning about Hydroxycut-branded products, said: “The agency has not yet determined which ingredients, dosages, or other health-related factors may be associated with risks related to these Hydroxycut products.”

While FDA hasn’t specifically identified HCA as the culprit, some believe that it may be responsible for the health problems. One can never be too cautious. As such, all products containing HCA are no longer recommended on this website.

For more information on the FDA’s warning against Hydroxycut and possible dangers to the liver due to HCA, see the Hydroxycut Review.

Thermodrenix Ingredients

Super CitriMax (1,400 mg) - Super CitriMax’s active component is Hydroxycitric Acid, or HCA. Super CitriMax is actually a standardized level of HCA (which comes from the South Asian fruit Gardinia Cambogia). The nice thing about Super Citrimax is that it has a stimulating effect a la caffeine or green tea, without causing jitters. A few studies supporting Super Citrimax’s efficacy:

  • Asia Pac J Clin Nutr. 2007;16(1):25-9. Especially effective when combined with Gymnema sylvestre — you’ll see why that’s important in a moment.
  • Diabetes Obes Metab. 2004 May;6(3):171-80. The study was published again here, adding more legitimacy to the study.

Green Tea 50% EGCG (1,000 mg) - Green tea is probably our favorite diet pill ingredient. It effectively ingreases the metabolism’s burn rate (which means you’ll be burning more calories and losing weight), has a whole slew of other healthy benefits, and is backed by more research than any other diet pill ingredient available today.

Also, please notice that 600 mg of Thermodrenix’s green tea is decaffeinated. The other 400 mg of green tea is caffeinated. Thermodrenix is specifically geared toward people that can handle a fairly high dose of caffeine.

Probably most notable, Thermodrenix includes 1,000 mg of green tea at 50% EGCG (think of EGCG as its potency). To give you a comparison, most other diet pills we’ve reviewed have anywhere from 50 mg to 150 mg. The minimum dosage required (based on piles of research) for effectiveness is north of 300 mg. Thermodrenix has effectively tripled that. I could go on, but the point’s probably been made.

ForsLean - 10% Forskohlin (250 mg) - ForsLean is a patented (see the patent here) ingredient that’s been clinically proven to aid in fat lipolysis (burning fat) and retaining muscle mass. While you may not initially think this is such a big deal, it is a big deal! When you’re dieting and calories are being burned left and right, it’s important that you don’t lose muscle mass. Not only for health reasons, but also because you’ll look better as a result.

Also, muscle mass requires more calories to maintain. So a more muscular individual will, all else equal, have a higher caloric burn rate, resulting in lower bodyfat.

Some literature supporting Forskohlin as it relates to burning fat cells:

  • Horm. metabol. Res. 19 (1987), pp. 358-360
  • J. Pharmacology and Experim. Therapeutics 238 (1986), pp. 659-664
  • J. Pharmacology and Experim. Therapeutics 244 (1988), pp. 852-858.

Gymnema Sylvestre - 25% gymnemic acids (200 mg) - Gymnema is used to help control blood sugar levels. Anciently, people in India would chew a few leaves of Gymnema and it would suppress the taste of sugar (which some use to fight sugar cravings).

Studies conducted in India as early as 1930 showed that the leaves of Gymnema sylvestre cause hypoglycemia in experimental animals. This state of hypoglycemia is explained on the assumption that the drug indirectly stimulates insulin secretion of the pancreas, since it has no direct effect on carbohydrate metabolism. ((Source: http://www.gymnema.com/))

We regret we don’t have citations for those studies done in the 1930s. However, one study from 2005 validated the insulin secretion caused by Gymnema sylvestre: H Asare-Anane, GC Huang, SA Amiel, PM Jones & SJ Persaud (2005) Poster Presentations - Stimulation of insulin secretion by an aqueous extract of Gymnema sylvestre: role of intracellular calcium. Endocrine Abstracts, Volume 10 DP1.

BioPerine (5 mg) - Don’t balk at the seemingly low amount of BioPerine in Thermodrenix. More isn’t needed. I’ll include a section of our own review regarding BioPerine. The gist of it is that it aids in absorbing nutrients — a critical component that most diet pills don’t look at.

Asian cultures anciently have used long and black pepper for medicinal/health purposes, but obviously actual research is much more welcome. To that end, this was of particular interest from the Department of Biochemistry and Nutrition, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, India ((Crit Rev Food Sci Nutr. 2007;47(8):735-48.)):

Many physiological effects of black pepper, its extracts, or its major active principle, piperine, have been reported in recent decades. Dietary piperine, by favorably stimulating the digestive enzymes of pancreas, enhances the digestive capacity and significantly reduces the gastrointestinal food transit time. Piperine has been demonstrated in in vitro studies to protect against oxidative damage by inhibiting or quenching free radicals and reactive oxygen species. Black pepper or piperine treatment has also been evidenced to lower lipid peroxidation in vivo and beneficially influence cellular thiol status, antioxidant molecules and antioxidant enzymes in a number of experimental situations of oxidative stress. The most far-reaching attribute of piperine has been its inhibitory influence on enzymatic drug biotransforming reactions in the liver. It strongly inhibits hepatic and intestinal aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase and UDP-glucuronyl transferase. Piperine has been documented to enhance the bioavailability of a number of therapeutic drugs as well as phytochemicals by this very property. Piperine’s bioavailability enhancing property is also partly attributed to increased absorption as a result of its effect on the ultrastructure of intestinal brush border.

Where is the Thermodrenix Proprietary Blend?

That’s right. That’s one of the things that has me so excited about Thermodrenix. They fully disclose exactly how much of each ingredient is included. Very, very few diet pill companies do this. The main reason behind it is because they don’t include enough of those ingredients to cause any weight loss at all (though companies will say it’s because they don’t want to be copied, that’s a copout excuse).

Blackstone Health Science’s Marketing Approach

This section isn’t directly related to the product but we look at it when reviewing companies to spot anything shady, underhanded, or consumer unfriendly.

No Testimonials and Before & After Photos

We’ve reviewed dozens and dozens of diet pills and not once have we found a site that doesn’t include testimonials in some fashion. BHS doesn’t include them. Their reasoning is that most testimonials are fake (we couldn’t agree more, remember Nuphedrine and Ephedrine P57 using the same Before & After pictures?) and they want customers focused on the ingredients of the diet pill, not on anecdotal (possibly fabricated) stories.

They don’t include any Before & After photos for the same reason. What a breath of fresh air.

Focus on the Ingredients

No AutoShip Program

They don’t do autoship. We like that. We find autoship (at least the deceptive, trick-the-consumer kind we find where companies offer a free 7-day trial and you’re automatically enrolled) to be less-than-consumer friendly 90% of the time.

Thermodrenix Pricing

Thermodrenix is definitely not the least expensive diet pill product you’ll run across. You get significant discounts as you buy more at a time, so that’s good. At $69, Thermodrenix is not the cheapest pill we recommend, but as in all walks of life it seems that you get what you pay for.

A word should be said here about pricing for diet pills. You’ll find some costing as little as $25. The key though isn’t what it costs nearly as much as what you’re getting. With most every diet pill, you’re not getting enough ingredients to make even one iota of difference.

Now - be careful and don’t be duped by some pill that’s purposely SUPER expensive (Zantrex-3, those devious people from Basic Research, comes immediately to mind), where their whole focus is to make you think, because of the price point, that you really are getting something that’s top quality when you’re not.

In either case, look at the ingredients and then decide if the price fits your situation.

Lifetime Moneyback Guarantee

You can’t beat it. We like to see anything more than 60 days, so a lifetime guarantee obviously fits the bill, and then some.  You are able to return one used bottle and all other unopened bottles.  Best in the industry.

Thermodrenix Review Conclusion

We’re recommending Thermodrenix completely. We love the formulation. We love the fact that every ingredient is clincially backed and they haven’t included a single fad ingredient (such as Hoodia, that piece of garbage). We love the fact that they’ve fully disclosed how much of each ingredient — they haven’t hidden behind a proprietary blend. We’re fans of their marketing and lifetime moneyback guarantee. We’re giving a very enthusiastic thumbs up. Give Thermodrenix a try and let us know how it works out for you. We’re anxious to know.

When you write, “Thermodrenix is specifically geared toward people that can handle a fairly high dose of caffeine,” what are you specifically meaning? Roughly 3 cups of coffee? 8 cups? I know the comparison can’t be exact but just curious how jittery? Does it compare roughly to the “jitters” of ephedra?
    Thanks for your great reviews!

  2. Bhudda Flii Says:

I was thiiiiisss close to buying, but Helen’s question got me thinking. I really hate the jitters so I’m interested in knowing the side effects. Thanks.

  3. Cal Says:

If you get jittery from caffeine, I would recommend you go with PatenTrim, as it’s extremely similar, but its green tea is decaffeinated.

Helen, the equivalent depends honestly on the potency of the coffee bean you use — which can even vary bean to bean on the same bush! However, it’s probably close to something like 4 cups of coffee.

  4. Luana Says:

Were you paid to endorse this product at all?

  5. betzi Says:

Their lifetime money back guarantee is only for unopened bottles.

  6. Cal Says:

    Hi Luana,
If you read in the About section of the site we make known that we’re affiliated with a large number of diet pills (even ones we don’t like, we’re surprised that people still buy them when we give a very clear, negative review), Thermodrenix is one of them. While it doesn’t mean we can retire to the Cayman islands, it does help justify the time we spend pouring through journals and writing reviews.

  7. Cal Says:

@Betzi, thanks for pointing that out. I’ve edited the review to say as much.

  8. Howard Says:

I am not a coffee drinker - I’ve previously had three cups of caffeinated tea in one sitting (Lipton green tea or regular tea) without any “jitters.” Would this evidence suggest that I should try Thermodrenix or PatentTrim?

  9. joey Says:

This sounds like a great product! My only concern is the size of the pills? I have a problem swallowing them so anything to big would cause a problem. Could you recommend a good diet suppliment in powder form?

  10. Reggie Says:

i ordered Thermodrenix and even though I only lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks, it has been the most effective diet pill I’ve ever tried. I exercise regularly, and have had no “jitters”. Thermodrenix has greatly decreased my hunger, and I think that if I totally dropped desserts from my diet I would probably have lost more weight! So even though I may try something different next, I would recommend this diet pill

  11. Cal Says:

    Hi Reggie,
Thanks for leaving your experience with Thermodrenix. Hopefully others will do the same (positive or negative).

  12. kyanna Says:

hi my names kyanna and i was reading your page and wandering what your quotes in dietary piperine were about was it a negative or a positive section? and another thing were can i buy thermodrenix? thank you

  13. 1STSGT Jackson (US Marine) Says:

I have plenty of Marines in need of some extra help with maintaining their weight in order to maintain the strick body to fat ratio that the Marine Corps has. My question, is everything in this pill legal? For example a Marine is not allowed to take products with ephedra, so I need to know, no bull****?

  14. Cal Says:

Hi 1st Sergeant Jackson (thanks for your service). Thermodrenix doesn’t contain Ephedra. One of the reasons I recommend it is because they fully disclose exactly what and how much is included in their product. That can’t be said for most diet pill products.

Make sure to contact them directly if you any further questions, as they’re obviously much more in the loop than I am.

  15. jane Says:

I’m stuck on which one out of the top 7 to choose, they all sound so good!! (note: i can handle high amounts of caffeine, I’m looking to lose around 25-30 lbs)
    please help

  16. jane Says:

    actually I’m thinking 20 lbs

  17. moo Says:

how old do you think one should be to take this diet pill or use Mega Tea Green Tea?

  18. darcie Says:

Hello, I was just curious as to how much weight is tested to lose per week? I don’t consider diet pills very healthy because I believe that an adult should only lose one to two pounds a week. However, though I have been eating healthy and exercising, my weight has hit a plateau and I can not seem to keep losing weight with my routine anymore. But I would like to maintain the one to two pounds lost per week. Is this product likely to keep me on track with that or will it boost too much?
    Thank you

  19. LR Says:

    Hi Cal,

I’ve been doing a lot of research and have found your webpage and articles very impressive. I have just purchased a bottle of thermodrenix and cant wait to start. I only purchased a bottle to try out first for one month, I hope to lose some weight anything is fine by meso here is my question is a month supply enough to see some results….I will post my results after

    Thanks

  20. Cal Says:

    Hi LR,
One month is definitely enough time to see some results if the diet pill has good ingredients (which Thermodrenix does). I look forward to hearing your feedback. Please do post back.

  21. annie Says:

    cal -

wow. thanks for the research. I have been on every fad diet & tried scads of pills throughout my life. recently, I tried Apidexin, fenterdren, & fenphedra. I returned Apidexin as I fell asleep on it & ate way too much for inhaling a diet pill. I found it a waste of time & money. I am in the process of deciding whether to keep either of the other two. Though, the Fenphedra is claimed to be highly effective & ‘C A R T’ happy, I really don’t think I am impressed with it at all. & it isn’t cheap. I was leaning towards keeping the Fenterdren after weighing (no pun intended) the price and it’s effectiveness on me (which isn’t screaming out at me, either) until I came accross your site tonight.
& once again, I thank you for your efforts.
I consider this information you’ve outlined and that you provide priceless. I wonder if I can now ask your opinion.

I am impressed with 3 of the products of your 7 ‘approved’.

    Patentrim
    Thermodrenix
    Clinitrim

My biggest concern with the Thermodrenix is the claims of ‘beware the caffeine and/or jitters’. I enjoy a full pot of coffee grinds in one cup of coffee. If I get an espresso, I like 3 or 4 shots. It makes me feel alive - not jittery. However, in a diet pill, like a dexatrim & sometimes metabolife, I get nauseated. my fear is the caffeine in this ‘best thing since sliced bread’diet pill - Thermodrenix - will cause nausea. jitters are not a concern. nausea is. can you offer any expertise or thoughts on this? I am thinking that the ‘crap’ stuffed into a dexatrim or metabolife is just that - crap - & this is why I get nauseated. I certainly understand if you are ‘not knowing’. & I will read & consider any advice or thoughts you share. you have certainly earned my respect for all of your research efforts.

my indecisiveness on the Clinitrim is - is it strong enough??? I need something fairly strong, obviously, if Fenphedra doesn’t do it for me. because of the great price, I am wondering if it is not ‘enough’ for me in a diet pill. but, being you have it on the ‘approval’ list, I then wonder if it Would be good… is there a specific ingredient that I should look for & compare between the 3 I am considering that would possibly help me in my decision & be a better pick for me? any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I’m kind of at a loss right now. I will spend more money if I need to, but it’s not necessarily a fact that because something is more or less expensive, that it will or will not work better or less.

Patentrim you rate the tops. the lazy part of me just wants to order that - because you said so. my only concern with this is will it do the trick? I lean towards this one due to the fear cast regarding the caffeine contained in the Thermodrenix. but, as I’ve written above, my only concern with Patentrim is the possible ‘lack’ of caffeine. & will it do the trick? I don’t want a diet pill that gives me no extra jolt. but I don’t want to feel pukey either.

Cal, thanks so much for your time reading this sybmittal. I hope it isn’t too awfully long. I sure do look forward to your helpful hints.

  22. kyanna Says:

    hi cal
i messaged before about thermodrenix and i was wandering it was safe and what is the average amount of weight you loose per week? plus i was watching t.v. the other day and there was a comercial for a diet pill called centra lean i tried lookin the product up online and there is nothing for it so i was wandering was it a scam? or is there realy a pill called centra lean?

  23. Cal Says:

    HI Kyanna,
I haven’t heard of that pill. The average amount of weight lost depends entirely on the person taking it! If it’s more than 5 pounds per week, you’ll probably want to cut back. Shoot for 1-2 ponds per week and you’ll know you’re doing something sustainable and lasting.

  24. Cal Says:

    Hi Annie,
Honestly, I would go with PatenTrim — it’s not caffeinated so you won’t have to worry about possible nausea. Clinitrim IS a bit weaker in the ingredient profile (quite a bit), but it’s also a solid diet pill. I haven’t heard any reports back about people becoming nauseated with any of the three you mention, though that doesn’t mean it won’t happen — it could be a false positive. Sorry I couldn’t be more help! The key is to listen to your body!

  25. Barb Rolf Says:

Cal, If I am understanding the difference correctly between paten trim-no caffeine and thermodrenix which contains caffeine, I was wondering if paten trim is as successful in aiding with weight loss as there is no caffeine in it. Do you find that those that use thermodrenix have faster results? I am debating on which product to buy but I am really afraid of getting the jitters. I am not a coffee drinker-only diet dr. pepper. I am not sure as to the amount of caffeine there is in a bottle of this. Can you help? Thanks

  26. Cal Says:

    Hi Barb,
Don’t forget that Green Tea is still a stimulant, and that it has been shown in research to increase the metabolism. Also, PatenTrim includes Chromium (which Thermodrenix does not). Chromium may also aid in weight loss, though the research isn’t quite as strong for it (we basically need to wait for more research to draw a firm conclusion). If you get the jitters easily, I would recommend PatenTrim. You will still get results, though you’re right that they may not be quite as fast.

  27. Carryn Says:

Why are the PatenTrim and Thermodrenix websites so similar. Even the bulk purchase offers look so so similar. I would guess that they are from the same company.

  28. Cal Says:

    Hi Carryn,
That’s correct. They’re both made by the same company. One with caffeine and one without (and Chromium).

  29. aaron Says:

i tried Thermodrenix for one month and was utterly disappointed. i frequent the gym 3-5 times a week and engage in both weight training and cardio exercise. i also try to maintain a healthy diet under 3000 calories a day. i am 6′2″ and currently weigh 206lbs.

aside from spending an inordinate amount of time in the bathroom, Thermodrenix did nothing for me. Although, i was able to return the empty bottle for a full refund (after a moderately trying tour through the Black Stone directory).

…i’m thinking about PatenTrim or Lipovox…

  30. Ana Says:

    Hi Cal,
I have just started looking into help with my weight loss and was thrilled to come across your site. I have been eating well and exercising but find that my weight loss has come to a stand still. I want something to assist me and something that is safe. I was wondering if the PatenTrim and Thermodrenix are safe for people taking blood pressure medications? Thanks for your insight and honesty, it’s pleasantly refreshing.

  31. shelley Says:

    good day cal

I am looking to drop 40 to 50 lbs. I have read the reviews and I have a question for u. I have high BMI and blood pressure. I was thinking about taking Deca slim for about 2 to 3 months thing advance to paten slim to get more of the fat burn gradually. Then once the BP and BMI is in order I will advance to Thermodrenix by the years end. Is that good to do. I iam trying to go from no caffeine to moderate caffeine.

    thanks cal peace.

  32. Heather Says:

Well I thought I would post my two cents! First a little background information… I’m 22 years old with two children, I’m 5′4” and started about 137 pounds… Basically I just wanted to take the lazy way out and see some results, well let me tell you this stuff works! I’ve been taking it for about 5 days and I’ve lost 5 pounds with no exercise. I wanted to see if it actually worked and it sure does so tomorrow I’m going to start an exercise routine and see how far this will take me. It has reduced my appetite quite a bit and I haven’t been as tired. I haven’t experienced any jitters at all and it hasn’t upset my stomach like others have in the past… I was a little weary because it’s a little more expensive but I’ve never had results like this! I am very pleased with the results and plan to post my results from adding exercise!

  33. Niko Says:

    Hi Cal,
I have been a fan of Ephedra and Phentermine in the past, is the effects of the ingredients in Thermodrenix close or even close to that of Ephedra or Phentermine? Most pills have no effect on me so I need something strong; and there is no fear of caffiene overload either. The more the better for me. Thanks for your help.

  34. Miss C Says:

Hi there, thanks for that. I am wondering if there is a link between chromium and migraines? I took a supplement recently to assist in losing post-baby fat which had chromium, and after having had no migraines for 6 months, I suddenly had one. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, and then started again. Same thing.

Is there a link? I don’t want to try again if it means another awful migraine?

  35. Scott Says:

    Hi Cal,

Ive been researching on the internet for roughly about 3 hour and I can tell you there is no other website I have come across that is as deep and informative as yours.

Just a few things id like to know:

Im really a snack eater and dont tend to follow any real eating pattern (I.e, Breakfast, Dinner, Tea). this is mainly due to my busy schedule.

So how would i go about taking the pills?
How many do you need to take a day?
Do they also work along a fitness programme?

    Cheers, Scott

  36. Cal Says:

    Hi Scott,
To answer your questions, how you take them depends on the diet pill itself. Most recommend taking it with a meal, or at least with lots of water. How many you take also depends on the pill. They work great with a fitness program. If you’re not doing any exercise, then you should start there before looking for the extra boost a diet pill can give you.

  37. Cal Says:

    Hi Miss C,
I haven’t heard of a connection with chromium and migraines, but if you’re experiencing it, then you did the right thing by stopping.

  38. Cal Says:

At this point, I don’t believe there’s any product that matches the effect of the (now banned) ephedra. Thermodrenix is the strongest pill I’ve found, but I won’t say it matches ephedra.

  39. Cal Says:

    Hi Shelley,
That seems like a reasonable plan :)

  40. Cal Says:

    Hi Anna,
If you have high blood pressure, I would consult with a doctor before taking any stimulant.

  41. Cameron Sword (UK) Says:

Hey Cal, I hae been reading through your reviews and have found them most helpful in choosing which pill to start with.

I am new to diet pills and although I exercise regularly I still think that I need some extra help in shifting a few stubborn fat pockets.

I would like to invest in a fast action fat burner and appetite surpressor which would give me quick results.

Will Thermodrenix do any of this for me and if so can you tell me the results such as pounds per week lost?

    Thank you!

  42. Cameron Sword (UK) Says:

Also, can you make an unbiased recommendation on other pills that would provide fast results? Thanks

  43. Cal Says:

    Hi Cameron,

If you’re looking for a good fat burner, Thermodrenix should do a good job. As far as appetite suppression goes, while Thermodrenix doesn’t seem to be trying to target appetite suppression directly, some have reported it to aid in decreasing hunger as well. Reggie, in the 10th comment in this review, said that it “greatly decreased” his hunger.

Another option (especially if you’re looking for appetite suppression) would Hydroxycut.

  44. Cameron (UK) Says:

So are you rating Hydroxycut (regular) as the top man for appetite surpression?

Your word means a lot to me so please let me know if you think differently before I just go and splash the cash in the next day.

    Thanks for your dedication

  45. Cal Says:

    Hi Cameron,

In terms of ingredients, Hydroxycut definitely has more [effective] ingredients in the formula that are designed to suppress appetite than many other diet pills. One such ingredient is garcinia cambogia, the other is gymnema sylvestre. Both are backed by a decent amount of research. Hydroxycut is a little less expensive than many others and it has a solid track record. If you’re looking for fat burning and appetite suppression, Hydroxycut might be a good choice.

  46. Eva Says:

    Cal,

what would you recommend in terms of fast weight loss?
I’ve read some good reviews about the Fen 72 Detox Pills in connection with Fenphedra, but you’re suggesting Thermodrenix as the “fastest” working pill. Which one do you think will bring the fastest results in connection with diet and exercise?

    Thank you!

  47. Cal Says:

    Hi Eva,

They both look to be pretty fast acting formulas. Looking at the ingredient profile of both, I’m going to stick with Thermodrenix as being the fastest. Fenphedra, however, is likely to bring very fast results as well.

  48. liz Says:

I purchased Thermodrenix with high hopes of loosing 7 to 10 lbs that I can’t seem to loose with just diet and exercise. I do some form of exercise 4 to 5 days a week. My problem is that I am experiencing alot of gastric distress on the product. Any suggestions on how to overcome ……If I cut back on the amount of pills, will it be effective?

  49. Cooper Says:

So, I’ve been looking at this website and reading on some different pills and i like the sound of this one but I have a question about how effective and what type of life style changes I would need to apply to see results. Also I’m a college student and I’ve already started to cut out the deep fired and greasy foods on campus which leaves me with little options but I find it hard to get in a good exercise routine with my packed schedule so I don’t know if that is going to not make it worth purchasing this product.

    -Cooper

  50. Cal Says:

    Hi liz,

Depending on the severity of your gastric distress, you may or may not want to consider stopping the supplementation. You can definitely cut back on the amount of pills, but understand that the amounts of the ingredients in the pill have been shown to be effective at certain levels. Taking a lower amount may still help, but there’s no guarantee that it will be effective.

  51. Cal Says:

    Hi Cooper,

On the Thermodrenix website (in their FAQ’s) they say the following in regards to your question: “It will, but your results are certainly optimized when you couple smart diet pill supplementation with exercise. There are other benefits to exercise beyond just weight loss (lower stress levels, healthier heart, self-esteem, etc.). Those need to be considered as well.” I would probably agree with what they’ve said here. It’s likely to help you lose weight regardless, but you would certainly see results from some regular exercise. Even if it’s only a little bit each day. And nice work on passing up the unhealthy campus food.

Im trying to decide between thermadrol or the thermodrenix. I am looking to lose about 40 lbs. The Thermodrenix is more expensive, but is it worth the extra money or would Thermadrol do the job just as well? Does one show results sooner than the other? Thanks

  53. Ashlee Says:

    Hi Cal
I was wondering about a supplement I bought called Centri lean. Its supposedly called the do nothing pill do you have any info on this product please. I’m so desperate to lose belly fat and the muffin top I got from having my daughter. If there is a more effective pill please let me know.

  54. Cal Says:

    Hi Kristie,

They are both very solid diet pills in terms of their ingredient profiles. The main difference that I see is that Thermodrenix has a shorter list of ingredients, but has a larger amount of each of the ingredients than does Thermadrol. Conversely, Thermadrol has more ingredients, but in lower amounts (but still high enough amounts that are likely to be effective). Thermodrenix is more expensive, but they also have a lifetime guarantee, whereas Thermadrol’s is only 30 days. The results from the two are likely to be somewhat similar. I would say it comes down to your price sensitivity and how much you want a good guarantee. Whichever you choose, please let us know how it goes!

  55. Cal Says:

    Hi Ashlee,

I’ve put Centri Lean on my list of diet pills to review. I’ll try to get it done as soon as possible. Thanks!

  56. Pamela Says:

Is this safe for nursing mothers??

  57. nick Says:

The Gentleman that wasn’t satisfied, he weighed 206lbs and was keeping his diet under 3000 cal. That could be the problem, that is way too many cal. you should be at 10x your body weight in cal intake

  58. mary Says:

if the bottle is all used up and you dont feel satisfied do you get your money back?

  59. Joyce Says:

I bought the Thermodrenix, but no insert came with the bottle. I need some encouragement in using it. I’ve used only a few times because they smell and taste so bad. Says to take 4 before breakfast and 4 before lunch. I don’t eat regularly, so could you give me some good advise on how I can use it and if I can adjust the amounts and how often. Can I break open the capsule and mix with a liquid? Can I take 1 an hour for the day up to 8? The capsule is just so big and like I said, it tastes awful. I don’t want to give up on this and just need some help in getting it in me.
    Thank you

  60. Peter Says:

Hi my daughter of 16 is looking for a diet pill to use she is overweight by a lot and is getting teased a lot what one would you reccomend and is it ok for 16 year old girls

  61. Chris Abernethy Says:

Hi of Cal. I am taking .75mg of Synthroid due to hypothyroidism. Is thermodrenix safe to take. I only have about 25 pounds that I want to lose. Cutting calories and exercising isn’t doing the trick.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  62. Michelle Says:

    Hello everyone!

Well I’ve tried over 15 different diet pills in my lifetime and I must say that thermodrenix is my favorite because it WORKS, no BS. i’m a pre-law student in college and even though i really try, i can’t make it to the gym everyday. i was very skeptical of this pill after using like 15 other kinds with no results. it’s a whole new story with thermodrenix. i’ve lost 6 pounds in a week and feel and look great! not much more i can say except i’ll definitely be ordering more bottles ASAP. thanks for this website, cal..very informative and exactly what i needed!

  63. Laura Says:

I have been buying, trying, and returning several different products lately that have come to me via mail offers. None of them have been effective, regardless of their great promises and validations…SURPRISE! I am sooooo tired of companies making money off people like me who are just hopeful people that someone out there is actually telling the truth and that something will help us lose weight effectively.

My doctor put me on anti-depressants several months ago for several different reasons. Ironically, one of the things that I have sunk into depression over is my weight. Since I have been on the anti-depressants, I have GAINED 40 lbs. Now I cannot even stand to look at myself and I will not socialize with anyone because of my appearance and the fact that I have nothing to wear anymore.

So….like everyone else, I need help. However, I do not want to waste anymore money. I just want to get some self esteem back. my husband left me for another woman and I want to show that dumb jerk just what he is missing out on!!!

Please recommend something that you feel is safe, fast and effective. I would like to lose 50 lbs. I try to eat healthy, but have major carb craving, probably due to my lifestyle. I am up at 1:30 a.m. to go to work and do not arrive back home until between 3-4
p.m. Sleep is limited. I walk around feeling like a zombie by Thursday and tend to grab something fast to eat even though I do know better.

I am on a limited budget (who isn’t) as I am single. I live in Canada so what products are available to me here.
    Thank you very much!

  64. Cameron D Says:

    Dear Cal,

You said nothin can match the effectiveness of ephedra, I thought the lifted that ban, if so what is the best product with ephedra you reccomend.

    Thanks, cameron

  65. Sammi Says:

    Hello Cal…
I just want to say that I have been looking all over the web for a straight-forward..no BS approach to diet pills… your web site has helped me tremendously in my decision of which diet pill to purchase..today i have purchased the “Thermodrenix” diet pill..I will keep you posted on results..thanks again for being so BLUNT!
    Sammi

  66. Jane Says:

I really enjoyed reading the reviews that you’ve created for all of the pills that Ive been researching. Thermodrenix stood out the most to me so I decided to give this one a try. I just got my bottle in the mail today so Im hoping to see the “fast” results after trying this for one month. Love the website!

  67. Brook Says:

    Hi Cal,

It is so difficult to decide which “diet pill” to try! I really like your site because you are so honest and upfront :) Anyway I need to loose quite a bit of weight (over 100 lbs I’m sorry to say) and was wondering what you think through out your line of research would be the best pill to take? I’m trying to work better on being healthy but feel I need that “extra” push. I am 21 yrs old and have struggled with being overweight my whole life. I also work nights and I don’t know if that would have any bad effects on taking anything??? I LOVE SODA!!! Diet or Regular & Drink it more than I should haha! Do you think with Thermodrenix that I would get Jitters? Also, what are the side affects? I just bought Alli on a whim and now am unsure if I should use it… What are your thoughts on Alli vs. Thermodrenix or another pill? Waiting for your response and THANK YOU!

  68. Greg Says:

    Hi Cal;
I am 21 years old, weigh 481 lbs and am 5′ 9″. I am on the Atkins diet and walk about 2 to 3 miles daily. In the past 7 weeks I have lost 24 lbs, (down from 505 lbs). Will thermodrenix assist in weight loss, and is it compatible with the Atkins diet?

  69. rod Says:

    Hi Cal,

Great site. Thanks for the hard work. I’ve recently read “China Study (campbell) — and the less reliable but still fun “Skinny &*#%^”. For a couple months now, I’m enjoying the benefits of whole food vegan diet, and it might actually be making exercise easier to do (hard to be sure). Anyway, let’s say a diet pill increases my metabolism, thermogenics, or what-have you, and I raise my resting calorie-burn rate… won’t I just eat more? Like, at first, eating my normal amount, I’ll lose weight. But soon ever-so-subtle changes in portions, and an extra spoonful of this or that, get me back up to intaking the calories at the new higher metabolic rate?

I guess I’m thinking the problem (I could lose 25 lbs to be fighting weight) isn’t the calories burned per day, more that I eat about 102% the calories needed due to an imbalance between food desired, and food required. (I’ll leave that vague because it could be “hidden” calories such as high fructose corn syrup) — or eating for comfort and not recognizing internal signals of being full, or some rocket-fuel chemical laced with aspartame which is inhibiting the satiation center in my brain — who knows, right? lol.

Are there clinically studied compounds that decrease appetite? Sensa? (just found out about them today, but it all sounds… dubious).

Anyway, I’d be grateful for your thoughts on this… thanks again for the site — you should add a paypal donate button for those who aren’t necessarily buying diet pills, but would be willing to chip in a couple bucks to thank you for your research.

    Rod

  70. Nessa Says:

I was looking at consumerpricewatch.net, and their reviews of thermodrenix are so-so while they rave about nuphedragen. what accounts for this difference from what I’ve found on your site? Are they being dishonest, or are they looking at different factors?

  71. Mary Says:

    Hello everyone,

I’ve just come across this website and Cal, I wanted to let you know that it’s just fantastic! Thank you!

I’ve tried so many diet pills, fads etc in the past and in the past ten years (i’m now 27), my weight has fluctuated from around 60kg to where I am now (my heaviest) at just over 90kg. I’m so unhappy and this extra weight really distresses me.

I know that stress (related to a high-profile job) has really contributed to my weight gain in the past year, to bring me to my heaviest weight in my life so far.

I quit my job a few months ago and moved from Australia to Europe where I’m working part-time in a much less-stressful job (taking a break for a year really to sort out my mind and body). I seem to have really sorted out my mind but just can’t seem to drop weight!!

I have used a product in the past (not sure I’m allowed to name it?) but it’s a meal replacement and it works wonders but I just can’t seem to find it anywhere here in Paris!! I’m having family back home send me some sachets in the coming weeks and I’m looking to combine this with Thermodrenix.

My two questions for you (thank you so much!!) are:

    1. Is it safe to combine Thermodrenix with a meal replacement “shake” (ie powder that you shake up with water to replace every meal)? And…

    2. Which is the safest and quickest way to purchase Thermodrenix? I’d rather go into a shop to purchase the product rather than buy over the internet (unless you can suggest a good website where it’s safe for me to purchase it?).

Thank you so much Cal and also to everybody for sharing their stories on weight loss!

    Mary :)

  72. Anna Says:

Hi Cal. In the past couple years I have been consistently gaining weight even though I haven’t changed my life-style much. I am 24 and I have been trying to lose weight unsuccessfully. I weigh about 150 lbs, and would like to be back to about 130. I did deal with some anxiety issues about 4 years back and took citalopram to allieviate it. I have not had any anxiety issues for three years now. What would you recommend for me? I was thinking Thermodrenix (I drink alot of coffee without problem) or PatenTrim.

  73. Cal Says:

    Pamela,
I would certainly consult your doctor before taking any supplements like weight loss pills if you are nursing your child.

  74. Cal Says:

    Hi Joyce,
Being that your questions are rather specific, I would shoot Thermodrenix an email with your questions. They are definitely the best ones to get that advice from. You can find their email on the website under “Contact.”

  75. Cal Says:

    Hi Peter,
The vast majority of diet pills that I’ve reviewed all state that they are for those 18 years or older. As such, I would highly recommend going to a physician for a recommendation. They may even have some good prescription options for her.

  76. Cal Says:

    Hi Chris,
The combination of different substances is always something to be cautious about. I would consult either a physician or a pharmacist in your particular case. It’s always much better to be safe than sorry.

  77. Cal Says:

    Hi Laura,
Of the products that I’ve reviewed, Patentrim and Thermodrenix are the ones that appear to have the best ingredient profiles. They should be effective. You can also see the diet pill comparison page for others that are recommended. Another option is to consult with your doctor about weight loss options (prescription, etc.).

  78. Cal Says:

    Cameron,
Even if the ban has been lifted, I’m still not very quick to recommend an ephedra based diet pill. And even though there are many that claim that ephedra wasn’t as bad as it was thought to be, there’s still just too much negative reports out there for it.

  79. Cal Says:

    Hi Sammi,
Thanks for your comments. We look forward to hearing about your results.

  80. Cal Says:

    Brook,
If you are ok with the unpleasant side effects that Alli is sure to provide, than it’s not a terrible option if you’ve already bought it. Thermodrenix is a solid contender and likely to show good results. I would however, suggest healthy eating and an exercise program to really get the results that you want. Thermodrenix does contain caffeine so if you don’t do well with caffeine, you may see some adverse side effects (jitters). PatenTrim is a good caffeine free alternative. If you want to save some money, you can always quit drinking soda. This has a more positive effect than most people realize.

  81. Cal Says:

    Greg,
Congratulations on your achievements. Thermodrenix is likely to help in addition to your exercise and diet. I don’t see why it would conflict with the Atkins diet. Be sure, however, to keep up the exercise.

  82. Cal Says:

    Hi Rod,
Thanks for the comments. As far as chemical compounds that suppress appetite, I don’t know of any off the top of my head. I’ve glanced at Sensa and I’m not so sure I buy into it just yet. I’ll be sure to get a review up of it soon.

I’ll certainly consider putting up the donate button. :)

  83. Cal Says:

    Nessa,
Many different review sites will give different recommendations. This is probably because they looking at different factors, or they have found different (or not enough) information in their research (just as doctors will disagree regarding effective methods to cure disease x). It’s important to get as much info from different sources as possible when making decisions. I’ve tried to do as much research as I can to get a truthful perspective of the effectiveness of ingredients.

  84. Cal Says:

    Hi Mary,
Thanks for your comments. As for your questions, you shouldn’t have any problem with taking Thermodrenix and your meal replacement shake. And as for purchasing Thermodrenix, I don’t believe that you can find it in stores. As such, I’d say the best place to get it would be the companies website itself. That way, you’re backed by their money back guarantee. I haven’t seen any reports of people having problems with buying from them.

  85. Cal Says:

    Anna,
If you can handle the caffeine, Thermodrenix would be a good option.

  86. Cal Says:

    Mary,
If it is your first bottle, you do get a refund for the empty bottle. After that, you can only return unopened bottles.

  87. Anna Says:

I have ordered the Thermodrenix, so hopefully it gets here soon. Does anyone know if it comes in discreet packaging? I’ll keep updating on how it works!

  88. Jane Says:

    Anna & Mary,

I posted just recently and I ordered one bottle on a Monday night and got it that same week on Friday (actually this was just last week) I ordered it from the actual Thermodrenix website. The bottle came in a white bubble-wrap envelope so by picking it up, you could hear the pills shaking around. The bottle is pretty large, probably due to having to store 240 pills! Haha Anyhow, Ive been combining the pills with a healthy diet and exercise so Im excited to see how much I can lose.

I agree with the donation button! Thanks Cal!

  89. Cal Says:

    Jane,
Thanks, we look forward to hearing your results.

  90. sandra Says:

  91. Frederic Says:

    Hi Cal,

I’m utterly happy that I finally found an unbiased review website,
I’m also very impressed with you lengthy, detailed reviews. They really do help confused people like me make the right choice(s) according to their expectancies. Now I just want to know is it possible to buy Thermodrenix off any pharmacy or health store such as GNC or CVS, or do you have to buy it from a website? If it’s the latter could you tell me the company’s webpage or where to buy it? I’m really eager to lose some pounds, and I think this, along with dieting and exercising, may be the answer.

    Thanks in advance.

  92. Cal Says:

    Frederic,
Thanks for your positive feedback about the site. To the best of knowledge, you can only get it from the website. Their website is Thermodrenix.com.

  93. BLANCA Says:

I am so pleased to have found your website, I am depending you are the real deal you have such an air of honesty something that is quite refreshing, I am starting Thermodrexin today. Again Thanxs!!!!

  94. Rebecca Says:

    Hi Cal and everyone,

I just wanted to tell my story. I read a bunch of your reviews and decided to give this product a try. I waited until I got my paycheck and was excited to order! I ordered one bottle of Thermodrenix on April 7th. I haven’t gotten it yet! They said it would ship within 3-6 business days, so on the 15th I emailed their customer service telling them I haven’t receieved my order. I still haven’t heard back from them. What is going on?!

  95. Rebecca Says:

So now it is the 18th, and still no reply from them, and still no package in my mailbox :(

  96. Tab Says:

I would like to thank everyone for their feedback. After extensive research on this product I just ordered it. I’m very nervous and hoping that for the price I paid it works for me. I am only a little bit overweight. I am 20 years old 5′2 and i fluctuate between 140 and 135. My bigest problem area is my belly (who would have guessed). I do eat sensibly and only do home work out videos about 4 days a week for about an hour. Therefore I would say I am moderatley active. If this does give me an energy boost hopefully i would be able to pick up on my work outs, but i am a full time college student and have crazy schedules. It’s almost the end of april and summer is right around the corner and I would really like to shed about 15 pounds by June for the bikini season!!!!! I will post back thats a promise. Thanks

  97. Rin Says:

    Hi Cal.

Let’s see. First off, I’d like to say that I enjoyed reading this review. But, I am feeling bit hesitant in ordering another kind of diet pill because of all of the false reviews and whatnot.

I have a few questions though. Okay, I’m 19. 5′2″, and I need to lose about 25 lbs. (according to my BMI) I rarely ever leave my apartment and spend most of my time sitting in front of the computer screen. I tend to mindlessly eat, but a day or so ago, I started a diet pill called SoloSlim. It leaves me with a really dry mouth, and I was wondering if PatenTrim or Thermodrenix does that. Also, I drink about 3 - 6 cups of Green tea or Barley tea almost daily. If I took either of PatenTrim or Thermodrenix, would I have to stop drinking tea? And is either one of the two any good with helping in controlling my mindless eating habits. I usually eat because I’m not feeling satisfied or because it’s just there. I’ve read that after taking this diet pill (or PatenTrim) that the person stopped craving sweets and whatnot, and instead, s/he craved veggies and healthier foods. Will this product do the same or have a similar effect on me?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

  98. Joelle Says:

Hi Cal - love this site. My question is this: what happens when you STOP taking this supplement? Does the weight truly stay off? That is always my concern because I don’t like the idea of having to always take a supplement.

I currently work out 4/5 days a week, 60 weight training and 60 minute Spin classes, I’m just having a hard time losing my pregancy belly.

    Thanks.

  99. Helen Says:

I have glaucoma and am not supposed to take any caffein. I am assuming this product is not good for me, but you DID mention another product that has decaffeinated green tea in it. I am using beta blockers to reduce eye pressure, and suspect these lower my metaqbolism somewhat.
I also take PPIs for excess stomach acid (GERD). I am concerned about interactions between my regular medications and diet pills, but badly need to lose about 30-40 pounds… Any advice?

  100. Rebecca Says:

Why is it taking so long for my comments to be approved? Well, I finally recieved my order yesterday, the 23rd. It took almost 3 weeks to get here and I am VERY disappointed with the customer service. I didn’t get a response until today when I contacted them twice about 2 weeks ago. I was beginning to believe it was just a huge scam, this website included because nobody has responded to me here either… I left my first comment on the 16th, it’s now the 24th…

  101. Lori Says:

I’ve been taking Thermodrenix for 6 days and was wondering how long before I will notice a change in my energy level? For the past 3 days I’ve even had regular coffee in the morning and then have taken my Thermodrenix 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch. Also, has anyone experienced an increase in hunger while taking these? I’m remaining very hopeful! :)

  102. Amy Says:

I bought Thermodrenix almost a month ago and my bottle is about to run out. I’m not quite sure to stick with it or switch it up. I’ve been dieting and exercising and only take the morning dose because if I take the lunch dose I can’t sleep at night. I’m not getting jitters but it definitely sends me to the bathroom in the morning.
I’ve been steadily losing 1-2 pounds a week but my diet and exercise also account for that loss so I’m not really sure if the Thermodrenix is working or not. It doesn’t suppress my appetite. In fact, I usually end up feeling HUNGRIER after I’ve taken it. I wish someone could explain that.
I’d like a diet pill that has an energy boost and an appetite suppresent. I don’t feel Thermodrenix offers either of these.
Is there something else that you would recommend??

  103. Cal Says:

    Hi Rin,
You’ll now notice that PatenTrim and Thermodrenix are no longer recommended on this site in light of the recent finding on the Hyroxycut products (which some believe may be caused by HCA). Both of these diet pills contain HCA, so as an extra caution, they aren’t recommended anymore.

  104. Cal Says:

    Joelle,
As long as you keep up the exercise, I wouldn’t think you’d have a problem keeping it off. Also, you’ll notice that we no longer recommend Thermodrenix. See the update at the top of the review. Thanks.

  105. Cal Says:

    Helen,
I would definitely consult your physician before taking any diet supplements. They may even be able to suggest some prescriptions options that will work for specific situation.

  106. Cal Says:

    Rebecca,
Sorry for the delay in posting your comments, I was out of town for a considerable amount of time and am just now plowing through the myriad of comments.

  107. Tab Says:

Ok. so i have been taking the product for about a week in a half now and i lost about 9 pounds. When i started i weighed in at 141 and when i weighed myself this morning I weight 132. This is great and all but now i am concerned about the recall on the hydroxycut. Cal, do you think I should continue taking this product even though it did help me lose weight? also, i was wondering if you have heard of any side effects where this could affect a womens mesnstral cycle. I am always due for mine at the begging of the month and I’m almost a week late? So this product has been working for me but I don’t know if I should continue to use it or just return it and get my money back now of the recall on the hydroxcut products.

  108. Cal Says:

    Hi Tab,
In regards to whether or not you should stop taking Thermodrenix: there hasn’t been any solid evidence that I’ve seen (yet) that certifies that hydroxycitric acid is the culprit in the liver problems associated with Hydroxycut. Having said that, it is very likely that we will see some evidence pop up shortly. Looking at the statistics, the odds are very slim that it would cause damage, but you can never be too careful when it comes to your health. If you’re able to get your money back, that may be the best bet. I don’t feel comfortable recommending that you continue taking something that has a chance (even a slight chance) to harm you. And I have not yet heard of any side effects affecting the menstral cycle.

  109. Joelle Says:

I just finished my 3rd week on Thermodrenix. I don’t weigh myself b/c I get too obsessed but I have been taking measurements. In this time I’ve lost 1/2 inch of my waist and 2 and 1/2 inches off my belly (the problem area). Not sure what this equates to in pounds.

I have also DRASTICALLY cut back my diet so I’m attributing the fat loss to that.

I purchased 2 bottles of Thermodrenix and will be sending the unopened bottle and the one used bottle for a refund. I really don’t see where this product did any good.

If I work out every day and starve myself - I’ll lose weight. With or without this product.

Good Luck everyone - I’m having a hard time believing people lost so much so quickly with this product…

  110. Joelle Says:

I went to pack up my pills to return them yesterday and lo and behold - there is NO return address (or address of any kind) on the packing slip.

I have emailed Thermodrenix (the only way to get in touch..no phone number listed) and, of course, haven’t heard back.

Does anyone still have the box with the return address on it?? CAL, do you have the address to return this product??

    Thanks!

  111. Cal Says:

    Joelle,

I don’t have an address for them. Can anyone help Joelle out with a return address on the box? Joelle, let us know what it is when you receive an email from them.

    Thanks

  112. Sarah Says:

I used Thermodrenix to help me lose about 4 stone in about 8 months (and I’d still like to lose a couple more). However what is preventing me from re-ordering is not the FDA warning, it’s the fact it’s so damned expensive (especially when it’s being shipped to the UK and you’ve to add customs charges et al on top).

I am going with Apidexin this time as it’s half the price!
