Selenium plays a role in the functioning of the thyroid gland. It has not been proven to contribute to weight loss. In fact, in large doses Selenium has actually been proven to cause weight gain.
Chromium - research falls on both sides of the fence with Chromium. Some clinical studies have shown that chromium is effective, while others have shown that it’s not. Its purpose is primarily to regulate blood sugar levels, which can help control weight problems.
Green tea is a clinically proven ingredient which increases metablic rate. However, SLIMQUICK cleanse does not disclose how much green tea it contains. Therefore, impossible for this

Glucomannan is a dietary fiber which absorbs water and makes the user feel full. Studies have found that for Glucomannan to be effective, the user must take 1-2 grams per day. Again, SLIMQUICK Cleanse diet pills do not say how much glucomannan they contain so no one can know if it is enough to be effective.

One bottle of 56 capsules of SLIMQUICK cleanse diet pills costs $19.99. The recommended dosage is 8 capsules per day for 7 days. This is quite expensive for one week’s diet pills.

SLIMQUICK cleanse warns not to take the product for more than seven days; they do not give a reason. They also warn, “Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking.” We must be honest — that’s the first time we’ve seen that type of warning.

This SLIMQUICK cleanse review finds that this product is nothing special. It contains a couple proven ingredients, but SLIMQUICK cleanse fails to disclose how much of each ingredient is included. You say you’ve never seen a warning about choking should a product not be taken with enough water. I’ve seen it quite often. For this particular product, the cause for the warning is the Amorphophallus Konjac Root. The powdered root expands with water (it’s quite fun to watch). It is taken as a supplement for weight loss as it is quite filling (it’s a source of fiber, like psyllium husk, whose capsules come with the same warning). It’s a natural appetite suppressant.
The warning regarding the length of use of this product comes from the Senna extract. Senna is a powerful natural laxative, powerful enough that prolonged use of the plant is known to cause dependency. Use it too long and you’ll find yourself unable to go without it’s help. I’ve never heard of it being prescribed for any more than a week.
As far as the herbal substances in this product, each one is used either for weight loss or detoxifying purposes. Milk Thistle is used for detox, it’s less powerful than burdock root, and more powerful than dandelion root (which is noted a little farther down the way, which is good, it’s often suggested that dandelion root be used in conjunction with milk thistle or burdock root). None of these plants have studies to back them up 100%, they’re generally the same as the chromium, going either way.
I’m not a doctor, nor am I a Naturopath, so I’m definitely not suggesting the use of this product. I have no personal testimonial, just a simple interest. I just thought your readers would like to know the reason behind the warnings. One should always discuss the use of products like these with one’s doctor. Some of the herbs in this could interact with a prescription medication or herbal supplement, or hinder their efficacy.

Wow, I think Sarah should have written this review. She was much more thorough than the original one. I would think that if you are going to give a REAL review, you would have researched the ingredients, uses, etc. much more thoroughly.

I have used this product twice, and both times seen great results. The first time I used it I lost 7 lbs. within that seven days. And the second time 8 lbs. It is farely gentle, no pain involved. You do however use the restroom quite alot! It is great if you want to cleanse and fit back into that skinny pair of jeans quickly!

I am using Slimquick Cleanse right now. I am on my second day and have lost 3lbs. I haven’t exercised at all but have been drinking more water. It’s great. I don’t feel jittery or anxious like with other diet pills. I have tried them all and in comparison, this is by far the superior product.

Great helpful review and comment Sarah! I agree with another poster above. When I read reviews, I want more than an opinion as to why they like or don’t like something.
To be honest, I thought the 19.99 price seemed fair considering the prices of other brands that are mostly fillers and nothing special.

I am on day five of the cleanse. I feel wonderful. I haven’t been as hungry and I definitely feel more energetic. I’ve been incorporating a lot of healthy snacks and trying to go for longer walks. So far, I have lost 3 pounds. My whole purpose for the cleanse is to look great for a wedding I’m in this August. I’d like to lose at least 10 pounds. I have not had any side effects.

I have been using slim quick for three days and I love it! I actually have BM, I have always had trouble with that so aside for beginning to lose weight I feel tons less bloated after I eat

I decided to try this after being frustrated with my own attempts to diet. I think it’s actually a good motivating tool. I mean, I paid $20 for it so I need to stick with it after the week. I’ve lost 3 pounds in 3 days. Some people will say that’s water weight but my own dieting attempts weren’t getting me ANYWHERE.
One of the things people need to realize is that they have to follow the meal plan. Not because it’s some magic recipe but because it’s calculated out the calorie intake for you. I think too many people “eyeball” portions and substitute foods thinking the calories are close enough.

i’ve started this product on a monday and today is now friday i was 185 and now 180 i dont know if its a mind thing with the pills but so far so good i’ve been motivated.i havent excercized with this product yet cause i havent had the time.but so far i believe its a good product. THanks
