Proactol Review

Proactol is a weight loss supplement which claims to be “a clinically proven daily supplement which will easily help you reduce excess body weight and become the attractive, slim person you have always wanted to be.” This is really no different from claims made by other weight loss supplements. However, Proactol is able to back up their claims with clinical research. (A rarity these days).

What are the Experts Saying About Proactol?

Unlike most other weight loss supplements which have no legitimate backing, Proactol is endorsed by several well respected health professionals ((We recognize that doctors are paid for endorsements, but I would stick my neck out there and say that an endorsement is better than no endorsement at all.)). Dr. Adam Carey, leading nutritionist and nutritional adviser to both the England rugby and cricket teams comments:

“Being overweight has a huge impact on our health, yet levels of obesity continue to escalate and we are failing to do anything about it. This new treatment, called Proactol™, could provide a kick start for those who find it hard take control of their weight.”

“Taken after food, Proactol™, made of non-soluble and soluble fibres, immediately attaches to fats found floating on the surface of the stomach. This creates a fat-fibre complex that is too large to be absorbed in the small intestine, allowing the fat to pass naturally through the body.”

Dr. J Gruenwald, a respected medical scientist, stated,

“It is…encouraging to see that a product like Proactol™ offers a healthy way of making it easier to take charge of your weight and eating habits. It also addressing issues beyond weight management, such as lowering cholesterol and balancing blood glucose fluctuations.”

So What is the Downside to Proactol?

Maybe you are thinking what I thought when I first started researching Proactol–it is too good to be true. There are some things you should be aware of.

The Proactol website says, “You are no longer anxious about the odd unhealthy treat now and again, because you know that Proactol™ will absorb up to 28% of the fat in anything you eat.”

Proactol has been proven to aid in weight loss, but taking it should not be used as an excuse to eat poorly. The absorption of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K could be affected by Proactol. These vitamins could be depleted due to the nature of Proactol. While the Proactol website claims Proactol will not cause loss of these vitamins, it also recommends taking vitamin supplements when taking Proactol.

Proactol’s Money Back Guarantee

While the Proactol website touts a full money back guarantee, the fine print reveals that it is not as simple as it is made out to be. There are several requirements in order to actually get a refund. You have to take Proactol for at least 120 days before requesting a refund. In addition, you must contact Proactol customer support “for help and advice on how to get the maximum benefits from taking Proactol.” After these steps, you must return the empty packages of Proactol as well as any unopened packages. Proactol also issues this warning, “If your refund request does not meet all the requirements you will not be refunded.”

Proactol Research findings

Proactol has been shown to improve levels of HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) ((http://www.neopuntia.com/neopuntia-efficiency-studies-tno-cern.php#clinical2006))

Participants who took Proactol in clinical trials showed a decrease in blood pressure, cholesterol, heart problems, and diabetes. ((http://www.proactol.com/medicallybacked.html))

Proactol Review Conclusion

Proactol does have legitimate proof of its efficacy. There are no known side effects to Proactol; however, no one really knows what the long term effects may be. We recommend Proactol with the recommendation to take a vitamin supplement and regulate caloric intake. Proactol is a safe and effective weight loss supplement.
