I've used this product in the past. In fact I've used HOT rox regular and HOT rox Extreme.
Just to let you know, a7-E is BANNED from natural bodybuilding competitions. You need many months of being off the substance to be allowed to compete.
http://www.wnbf.net/drug-free.html You can see here.
Thats kind of serious, since anything banned has meant:
1. produces results that actually work
2. produces just as bad side effects, danger risk to health
I have to say I've had radically different results from either product.
I was using a balanced diet of around 1300 calories on both instances.
In summary Hot Rox helped produce some fat loss results which were decent, a 12 lb loss in 6 weeks. It was the really old formula, I'm not sure if A7E was even included.

2007, A year later, I took Hot Rox extreme. Oddly I lost only 2 lbs of bodyfat, but gained 14 lbs of muscle in a 6 week period. This was a reversal of the Hot rox regular. I was on a low calorie diet, mind you.

My arm measurements blew up 1.7 inches, my chest 3, legs 2, even my stubborn forearms grew 1.2 inches. I was stronger than I was ever before and lifting substantially more weight. I was aggressive in the gym.

HOWEVER, I had some strange side effects, from Hot Rox Extreme.

-Anger
I was always pissed off or ready to fight. I actually in a way enjoyed that feeling, and that SCARED me. I had to work out to cool some of this down, or else it would easily roll off into hurting someone, usually someone I loved.

-my blood pressure was high.
The anger helped that too. Around 133/81
I'm typically 112/77, which is on the low.

-Sex drive
This was like viagra to me. I was walking around with a tent, unless my muscles were too busy engaged in heavy lifts. The yohimbine possibly was too much for me. I also had a one track mind. I was over stimulated all the time. For a while this was cool, but it also interfered in my daily activities. I guess if you have a wife, this would be good, but if not ..watch out!

Because of these effects, it gave me kind of a "roid rage" All I could do was work out , be pissed off and think about sex 24/7.

Then the ban and saying it has "hormonal compounds" unlike the typical 7-keto is alarming. It was no wonder this compound worked so well for building muscle at record speed for me. What would of happened if I was actually eating more calories and kept on it longer? Either I would be a lot bigger, or my heart would of bursted, who knows.

Unfortunately, my review probably has excited some of you to try this, but please be wary of the side effects. I've also haven't heard other people report the same results as far as muscle gain goes, only the fat loss. I don't know what was going on then.

fast forward 2009, Since then I've lost half of that muscle gain being off it, but I'm a lot lower body fat.

Moss,
Thanks for your comments. The customers experiences are certainly a necessary part of any review.

If I may suggest: include a warning about Yohimbine. Many people react poorly to this herb and its extract.

Biotest is famous for being an 'interesting' company.

I dont understand the science behind all this stuff.... All I can say is that, having tried many other products, HRX is the best one by far, doesnt give you jitters or headaches n gives you lots of energy and makes you lose fat and keep muscle. I couldnt ask for more and would expect to pay more for such a great product.
Also, it tastes great and i have had great results and would deffinatly recommend to all..

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your comments. You are correct in saying that the best way to evaluate a diet pill would be to test it out and report the results. I am unable to do this for 2 reasons. 1. Different people will react differently to different ingredients. And 2. If I personally tested each diet pill that I review, I'd be one messed up guy. As such, the best way for me to review the pill is to judge it's efficacy based on the ingredients and the amounts of those ingredients.
This comments section is a good place for people to get feedback from people who have actually taken the diet pill and report on its efficacy. So thanks again for your reporting your results.

My concern with this review is that it just examines the label and not any specific results from using this supplement. I have tried many other fat loss supplements in conjuction with diet and exercise, but feel i have recieved by far the greatest results from hot rox. There may be a placebo effect occuring but I find it unlikely, I started using this product as an experiment with low expectations only to continue to use it because of the better than expected results.

I guess the point is, before suggesting readers to another supplement, try it out, compare with others.

Dear Paolo (and Peak),

I certainly appreciate your comments. While I do my best to research and understand the findings of clinical studies and the medical terminology that goes with it, I certainly don't fully understand everything. I've changed the review to reflect these facts. Thanks again.

Dear Cal,

I'm a pharmacologist and unfortunately I have to agree with Peak:
10% forskolin extract means that the purified extract contains 10% of "pure" forskolin. The concentration of a substance may reflect the potency of the compound/molecule but surely does NOT "measure" its potency. The potency is measured by looking at the EC50 or IC50 of compound and corresponds to a concentration unit normally expressed as nM, uM or even mM at which 50% of the receptor/enzyme pool is activated or inhibited in a given experiment.
In conclusion, 250mg of a 10% forskolin extract contains approximately 25mg of pure forskolin and does not indicate its true potency.

Hi Peak,

Thanks for your comment.
When they say 10% forskolin extract, they mean a concentration of 10% of the extract (a measure of it's potency). Not 10% of the amount of the whole mixture. I believe a 10% concentration is a common percentage for forskolin. So in other words, the study isn't using 10% of the 250mg of forskolin (25mg) but rather is using a full 250mg of the ingredient forskolin at a 10% concentration.

I was just noticing some faulty statement there...250 mg at 10% = 25mg.

They may be making unsubstantiated claims but so are you.
